100B€ /year to decontaminate Europe from PFAS. [New Deal] 360 Capital leads Oxyle's 16M$ Seed round. We are happy to start the journey with Oxyle as they tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time: removing PFAS from polluted soil and water. 🌊 PFAS—synthetic, highly toxic substances that don’t degrade naturally—have silently infiltrated our water, soil, and bodies for decades, posing severe environmental and health risks. Traditional treatments have merely shifted the problem, redistributing PFAS into waste streams without truly eliminating them. Oxyle’s technology is changing the game: their catalyst adsorbs and destroys the chemical bonds and therefore eliminates the #PFAS, including TFA & ultra short chains that are the most challenging ones to deal with. At a fraction of the cost. We’re proud to lead the round with participation from Axeleo Capital (AXC) and renewed trust from existing investors Founderful, SOSV. #SummerRounds We continue our coverage of the latest financing rounds in water with Puraffinity, a UK-based cleantech company, which has raised an additional £6.73M in its latest Series A funding round, bringing its total to £17M. This round was led by BGF, with prior support from Octopus Ventures, HG Ventures, Kindred Capital VC, Verves Ventures and Universal Materials Incubator Co., Ltd. PFAS, often called "forever chemicals," are found in products like non-stick cookware, waterproof clothing, and firefighting foams. They don’t break down easily, accumulating in the environment and posing health risks such as cancer and immune system damage. Puraffinity’s technology acts like a highly selective sponge, capturing harmful PFAS chemicals from water and offering a cost-effective, low-energy solution for industries, utilities and environmental remediation projects. This is different from competitors like Aclarity, which uses electricity to break down PFAS, or 374Water, which operates like a high-pressure cooker to destroy the chemicals. Another competitor, Oxyle, relies on triggering chemical reactions in water to disintegrate PFAS without needing additional energy.
