The Chevron New Energies Western Region Direct Air Capture (DAC) Hub has kicked off this fall. Black & Veatch is serving as the balance of plant integrator engineer for the DOE TA-1 Pre-FEED project. The anchoring DAC technologies on the project are 280 Earth, Avnos, Inc., and Sustaera. UC Davis, Cal State Bakersfield, and Electricore are also on the project team. The project is developing a DAC Hub in Kern County, California. The initial hub capacity to be developed is 50k tons per year of CO2 captured with a final hub capacity of 1 millions tons per year captured. It's a really exciting scale up project that Black & Veatch is happy to be supporting. https://lnkd.in/gecYnduV

Congrats Mark! It's exciting to see Black & Veatch playing a key role in the development of such a groundbreaking project! A major step forward in sustainable solutions for carbon capture and climate impact. That 1 million tons per year CO2 capture goal would be equal to taking almost 200,000 gasoline (ICE) cars per year off the road.
