- [Instructor] You can find many different generative AI tools these days that may help you achieve your plain language writing goals. For example, you may have heard of chatbots, such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Bard. These tools are changing every week, but I'll go through a few of the big picture ways you can use them and give you some examples to try. In many ways, using AI is like using readability tools like the Flesch-Kincaid Readability Index. It can be helpful, but you still need to use your own judgment because what is plain language writing for one audience is not plain language writing for another. In fact, one way you can use AI is as another way to get a readability score. You may remember this sentence from our reading level lesson, where a web-based tool told us it had a 16th grade reading level.
