- Another troubleshooting tool that Microsoft has built right into the group policy management tool is group policy modeling. Which we see right above group policy results. And, by the way, it's very, very similar. But with one key difference, group policy results is a tool that shows you what already happened when a user logged into a certain computer. Group policy modeling is more of a, "what if" scenario, it doesn't have to have happened yet. It could be a matter of, you think you've configured everything properly. Now you want to maybe preemptively troubleshoot and say, "Well, what if certain user, logs into "certain machine, are they going to get the settings "I thought they were going to get?" Or, let me give you another scenario. Let's say you are troubleshooting with a user. You go through group policy results, you see a problem. You think you have fixed the problem.
