Value stream analysis
- Continuous improvement is not about the things you do well. That's called work. Continuous improvement is about removing the things that get in the way of your work. Now that's a terrific quote. It comes from Bruce Hamilton, who's the president of a consulting company that specializes in lean six Sigma. For sure this is a guy who knows something about process improvement. Value stream analysis is all about improving your processes, removing those things that get in the way of your work. Most of us call these non-value added steps. One excellent tool for value stream analysis is the Lean Improvement Cycle. A five-step process developed by the Lean Enterprise Institute.
