Most solutions to the UV problems involve destroying the as-intended UV layout by applying a "box" pattern. This works in the examples, but would pretty much not work at all for mapped textures, especially for objects like characters, vehicles, weapons, etc. Section 3 involves a lot of references to unknown sources of the problem, with unknown solutions. Not very useful as troubleshooting training.
