    Science and Technology

In 2017, I put together the first student-run TEDx event in the largest HS in US, (5,800+ student body). My intentions were 1) leave senior year with a bang 2) build lasting relationships by reaching out to world-class leaders, subject-matter-experts and public speakers, and 3) channel an event around my growing curiosity in tech, namely social media's influence on our coming-of-age identity (fb/snap/ig).

The event was a huge success a sold out event with 180+ attendees (exceeded event site capacity of 120). It was the fruition of planning a year in advance, applying to TED for permissions, and stage setup and rehearsals. I had an amazing team to rely on and they delivered.

    • Fundraised $1.5K+, led 4 subteams, sold-out tech conference with 180+ attendees
    • Marketed to 5k+ students, prepared keynotes from 40+ tryouts, designed website
    • Set event theme inspired by the shift in communication with the rise of social media

  • JP Morgan (Hackathon Win)

Won overall first place from the 100+ selected participants, half of whom were flown over from various states across the country. Used Bootstrap and PHP to create gamified, interactive survey UX. Added Google Analytics to track where the nonprofit SERJob’s technically-challenged applicants had trouble filling in.

  • NYU Hacks (Hackathon win #9)

    1st place at NYU Hack.

I've been asked a lot what I do. Here's my pitch as if you were the judge:

(Elevator pitch) Today startups with exponential looking growth curves get funded hundred-million-dollar checks by venture capitalists and angel investors i.e. Softbank and WeWork

Most of our economy, tho, is made of businesses with more humble growth trajectories if any. Most people today have some money saved - if they even do - but hardly enough for a house down payment…

(Elevator pitch) Today startups with exponential looking growth curves get funded hundred-million-dollar checks by venture capitalists and angel investors i.e. Softbank and WeWork

Most of our economy, tho, is made of businesses with more humble growth trajectories if any. Most people today have some money saved - if they even do - but hardly enough for a house down payment ~150-200k in NYC.

Seedit is an app for small businesses to get crowdfunded by small investors for equity

(Touch/feel demo) Here's our app with wow factor: working payment process.

(Beyond the bar) NodeJs is a runtime environment making mobile/web apps browser-agnostic. Our working payment server is hosted on Heroku and our ios app uses Google Cloud. Using Kubernetes allows us to achieve cloud-agnostic.

What gets me excited about these hackathons is not code, nor clout - which is great - but ideation. I love coming up with ideas that solve real-world problems and I feel each hackathon is a day closer to making that feeling actually true.

To my team : you bring the best out of me, you are a beast at what you do and I look forward to growing further together

  • Estee Lauder (Hackathon win #8)

At Estee Lauder’s annual hackathon, I spent the first 6 hours interviewing VPs to understand needs and concerns around managing and sharing user data amongst their 35+ brands.

From there, I worked with a team to create an app where users can recycle makeup bottles and redeem them for sub-brands’ products. Estee could then use the data to map which products complement each other.

We also added Apple's wallet feature to generate a barcode to scan at the outlet, trained Google AutoML to recognize Estee products for outlet employees and created a suggestion engine using Microsoft ML Studio to predict related products.

Our solution was applauded by the stakeholders, and our team ended up winning first place out of 200+ competitors. Awarded $7,500.
