Another section of the #FinalRule has been released by #CMS aimed at enhancing #access to and #transparency of #Medicaid services, including #HCBS. This rule pairs with two other final rules published in April 2024 that focus on improving Medicaid #eligibility and access to Medicaid services. This rule is focused on an #FFS system, but the impact could involve changes to underlying FFS rates in base #data for #ratesetting and program #oversight in #MLTSS. The Federal Government’s Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (Health IT) launched the United States Core Data for Interoperability Plus Quality, Data Initiative (“USCDI+”) in the Fall of 2021, developing several domains to harmonize data elements into a common list for development and reporting of quality measures across agencies (such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS). Just released! Our #SDOH and #HealthEquity Workgroup has published "Recommendations for Determinant Capture," suggested guidelines for standardizing how domain risk is captured in #EHRs. "Absence of clear guidelines for risk assessment and standardized representation of risks in EHRs hinders effective data exchange to inform interactions at the point of care," writes the Workgroup.
