Being there yesterday for the CPUC’s grant approval was inspiring. Out of the $157 million awarded statewide, Vallejo’s $3.8 million allocation is more than broadband—it's about families in these project areas, small businesses along the way, and the transformative potential of connectivity for Mare Island. It's devastating to see the damage caused by the California wildfires. T-Mobile is doing everything we can to help affected communities and first responders stay connected. DIRECTV’s decision to abandon its acquisition of DISH Network due to bondholder opposition underscores a critical point: the pay-TV landscape is continuing to fragment as streaming takes center stage. The proposed merger, which would have created the largest U.S. pay-TV provider with 19 million subscribers, was seen as a way to consolidate a shrinking industry plagued by cord-cutting. But even $1 billion in potential cost synergies couldn’t overcome financial roadblocks. In a world dominated by Streaming TV, the failure of this deal reflects the increasing difficulty for legacy TV providers to adapt. Consumers demand flexibility, choice, and personalization—values that streaming platforms deliver natively. As cord-cutting accelerates, the focus shifts to innovation, aggregation, and delivering content where audiences are—streaming, not satellites. The implications are clear: the winners in this shifting landscape will be those who understand streaming is no longer a side business, but THE business.

This is a major announcement for T-Mobile, as it indicates its progressing to become the primary all-mode #communications supplier for both #consumers and #business users. Adding the Lumos Fiber assets for #Fiber #broadband connectivity enables T-Mobile and especially T-Mobile For Business to become a bundled provider of #mobile, #FWA over #5G, and #fiber #internet and #communications services. And while the acquired fiber assets are currently regional and in a relatively limited area, there is no doubt T-Mobile plans to invest to greatly expand the fiber infrastructure. Given T-Mobile's aggressive pricing and marketing, this a warning to Verizon and AT&T that T-Mobile is coming for their customers. #Uncarrier
