Yesterday, June 17, 2024: The Israeli Center for Quantum Computing - @IQCC - was launched Significant progress in the field of quantum computing in Israel: The Israeli Center for Quantum Computing (IQCC), a research facility that aligns with similar centers in the world, opened yesterday (Monday) with the aim of making quantum computing capabilities accessible to researchers and research and development centers in the country. The center will include three quantum computers and was established and managed by the Israeli company Quantum Machines, which provides control and control systems for quantum computers. This is a world-class research facility that will include three quantum computers and serve the quantum computing community as well as academic research institutes and R&D centers of advanced industries in Israel and around the world. The center was built with a total investment of 100 million Nis. The QM - Quantum Machines company clarified that this is a special center that will provide access to the cloud, in order to provide users with remote access to the computing environment. In addition, the center will offer an advanced testbed equipped of its kind in the world, which will assist in the development of new quantum computing technologies. The company states that the highlight of the innovative facility is the deployment of a unified system for classical quantum computing, which was developed by Quantum Machines and NVIDIA . The system is tightly integrated with a supercomputing cluster consisting of NVIDIA GPU processors, and ARM and AMD processors, all connected to AWS cloud platforms allowing remote access and leveraging additional cloud computing resources. Dr. Itamar Sion, co-founder and CEO of QM: "When we thought about what would move quantum computing forward, we realized that the means was to build the most advanced facility in terms of operational capability, modularity and integration with HPC and with the cloud. Our open architecture approach will ensure that it will be possible to upgrade and expand the The facility continuously to stay at the forefront of technology, which will make it an accelerator of the entire ecosystem in Israel and the world." The global quantum computing market estimate for 2022 was $13.67 billion and is expected to reach a value of $143.44 billion with a compound annual growth rate of 26.5% in 2032. Apart from China, Israel is the country that invests, on average, the largest percentage of the gross domestic product - GDP ( 0.082%) in quantum computing issues.

It’s a kind of playbook or even a bible for future founders in Kazakhstan who are now 10–12 years old. As Arman himself said, we missed the era of the internet boom, we missed the era of the mobile app boom, but we must not miss the era of the AI boom. Take a look at this picture. It was taken today at our Salesforce offices in Tel-Aviv. It shows a few dozens of Salesforce Israel employees in one of our regular all-hands meetings. What's so special about that? Well, that picture was taken exactly 36 hours after Iran launched a massive aerial strike against Israel with 100s of UCAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles carrying about 60 tons(!) of explosives. Thanks to the Israeli Air force, the air forces of the US, UK, France, Jordan and others *and* Israeli innovation and engineering talent who developed the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world - luckily that attack ended up with relatively low impact. It was a sleepless night for all us in Israel who got an advanced notice of the attack and basically spent that night bracing for impact. Now take another look at this picture. 36 hours later - People showing up at the office, talking to each other, having a few laughs, having meetings, discussing deadlines, solving business problems, discussing engineering problems, doing demos, having coffee and lunch together, having an all-hands meeting together. 36 hours ago we were bracing for impact of 60 tons of explosives that were about to fall out of the sky. Ants vs. Humans Are you a team player or prefer working solo? Prof. Ofer Feinerman and his team at the Weizmann Institute of Science, conducted research to understand how ants and humans, two highly social creatures, work together in groups. Participants were given a large T-shaped object that they had to maneuver across a rectangular space divided into three chambers connected by two narrow slits. The ants tackled the maze challenge in three combinations: a single ant, a small group of about seven ants and a large group of about 80. Humans handled the task in three parallel combinations: a single person, a small group of six to nine individuals and a large group of 26. Conferences are the perfect blend of intellectual stimulation and meeting new friends, and it was so much so this week at PyData Tel Aviv!!! (Proof of a fun moment in the video) As with all good conferences, it's worth a summary post. This year's PyData Tel Aviv was intimate, with many planned breaks which allowed a 4th session - "The hallway session". Many talks enlightened my day: professional, personal, and all the in-between. The atmosphere was light and real connections could be made. Kudos to the organizers for that!!! Miki Tebeka, Iddo Berger, Tali Fulman, Dean Langsam 🍁🌕, Hila Weisman-Zohar On the professional side, all the sessions I participated in were absolutely great. Let's dive in. I started the day listening to Ortal Ashkenazi talking about the journey of NLP. She explained the different models throughout the years and how each of them improved significantly from what existed before. You will be happy to know that Ortal has joined our team for the next #RAG hands-on workshop by WiDS Israel Community, hosted at Earnix. Ortal is looking for her next professional home and would love to be approached about great offers! Then, Mor Hananovitz 🎗 from ParaZero Drone Safety Systems showed off her amazing "lazy engineer" approach to automate as much as possible the EDA process. She analyzed quickly a new dataset, going from not understanding it at all, to generating business-level key points to be taken. Switching to the red track, Michael Levinger from Melio addressed the challenges of problematic prompts and some great real-life "amusing" stories were shown. For example, highly costly chatbots can end their life very quickly after airing, causing real financial and brand damage to their companies. Michael showed some ways to overcome this. After lunch, Shuki Cohen from AI21 Labs and Yoel Zeldes from Google DeepMind took a literal shot (drinking!) and did some great #Python live-coding to implement a form of #RAG: scraping the internet for a baseline dataset, injecting it as part of a prompt to ChatGPT, hoping to get better results than without the data. Follow their #Youtube channel One Shot Learning for great episodes. Moran Reznik from Lusha presented how hyper-parameter tuning can improve #BertTopic, step by step: embedding --> clustering --> dimensionality reduction, and how to explore each step. His #HarryPotter example was fun! I can't wait for his next talk on how he created the simulated data: Hogwarts pupils complaining on different topics, depending on a specific distribution according to their house. Lastly, Yonathan Guttel from Lightricks showed an interesting developed approach for time series data analysis with #ARIMA, using the prediction for each point in time as an additional feature when building the model.
