    In 2015, Lyons Consulting Group (LYONSCG) initiated a program to greatly enhance its demand generation objectives. We used our website, specifically the Insights section, to capture search traffic through optimization and display thought leadership in a way that moves the firm beyond our systems integration focus.
    As a professional services firm, we understand the value we provide (and our competitive advantage) is the knowledge within the minds of our subject matter experts. Considering that 70% of the buyer’s journey is complete before a buyer even contacts sales, we knew we needed to display our overall expertise on a regular, consistent basis in order to position ourselves as a leader in the industry.
    Elements of our campaign included:
    • A content development strategy as part of corporate/business objectives. Thought leadership did not just fall under the objectives of the marketing team; the entire company was invested in these efforts.
    • Adding content generation KPIs to the personal objectives of the leads of our six practice areas.
    • Launching a content rewards program company-wide to encourage staff to submit content for the program.
    • Hiring a content specialist to assist with the creation of long-form content (white papers, webinars, presentations), that go beyond blog posts to offer more in-depth, comprehensive resources for our readers.
