I'd get rid of cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a damn job. Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligation's. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job. Nothing the matter with a vasectomy for all of the volunteer fathers who don't support their children!! Baby's momma and daddy need to get a job! Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360,then get a job and your own place. In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. That's right, if I have to work, guess what, you are too! It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22-inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good." Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. What part of this do you not understand! Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem. And if you’re in jail, to get the extra things you want, you have a job in there too. If you don’t want to work, put all of them in a cell block together and they will end up killing each other! I know that’s cold but they really didn’t learn from the mistake that put them there and if they did they would work to get themselves out of there. I know, that’s to simple for some of you but as Mr Ray Danner alway said, KISS! Keep it simple stupid! If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices. AND While you are on Government subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Government welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job. Now there's some political correctness for you!

TRUMP-VANCE AND CHINA The Republican presidential campaign ticket of Donald Trump and JD Vance this week has been closely watched by foreign governments for indications what a return of an “America First” foreign policy might look like – including China.   Echoing Trump,, Vance claimed that policies in past decades supported by President Joe Biden and other “out-of-touch politicians” in Washington meant the US “was flooded with cheap Chinese goods, with cheap foreign labour, and deadly Chinese fentanyl.”  “We’re going to build factories again … together, we will protect the wages of American workers and stop the Chinese Communist Party from building their middle class on the backs of American citizens,” Vance said.  The comments, which were among the few direct references to foreign nations come in a week where Vance and Trump have signalled how their administration would shape US policy and relations with China partners in Asia.  Trump repeatedly referred to China in his own wide-ranging speech at the convention Thursday, saying he “will not let countries come in, take our jobs and plunder our nation,” in an apparent reference to US economic relations with Beijing.  Beijing has already obliquely called for the rhetoric to be toned down, with a Foreign Ministry spokesperson repeating that Beijing is “opposed to making China an issue in US elections,” when asked about statements from each Trump and Vance in recent days. .  Vance was swift to name China the “biggest threat to our country,” in an interview with Fox News. And with regard to the war in Ukraine – he said the war in Ukraine must be brought to a “rapid close” so America can focus on “the real issue", which is China,”  Supplying Ukraine with air defence systems could impair our ability to aid Taiwan’s defence – if China were to attack the self-ruled island.  Trump’s choice of the 39-year-old senator is seen by some observers to reinforce a hard line on China – a position Beijing is watching closely. Of course, there are several months to go the election and one has to be wary of the ‘”political rhetoric” at campaign rallies and Trump is always ‘unpredictable’. However should there be a Trump/Republicans win, 2025 could be a pivotal year for the world.

1. Kill the enemy. 2. Protect the friendlies. 3. Bring everyone home alive. As an A-10 squadron commander deployed to Afghanistan, my team provided 24/7 close air support for American troops on the ground. It was our responsibility to show up when they were in a fire fight and deliver weapons so they could live to fight another day and get home to their families. There were many distractions that could take my team’s time and energy away from the core mission. So I gave them these 3 objectives for our deployment to focus everything we do. These 3 drove our daily decisions, our tasks, our projects. If it didn’t support these 3 missions, it didn’t get done. I placed them above the doorway as the last thing we would see as we stepped out of ops center to get in the jets. We flew, debriefed, ate, breathed, slept with these 3 objectives always top of mind. Sometimes it meant not pulling the trigger when the fog of war and chaos didn’t give clearly identified target. The risk of making a mistake and killing Americans or civilians was high. I am so proud of my team in embodying these objectives and making so many split second life and death decisions in the heat of battle. It worked. While we were overhead, not one American was killed or injured. We took many enemy out of the fight for good. (I don’t take the taking of any human life lightly. It was necessary to save American lives after insurgents attacked and possibly already killed or injured an American troops.) And we brought everyone home alive. My squadron won the Air Force Association David C. Shilling Award that year for the best contribution to national defense. I am so proud of my team. After we came home, one of my young Lieutenant pilots and his wife attended an Easter sunrise service where I sang a solo. It was a very different role for them to see me in. After the service, he came up and said when he saw me step up to the microphone, he expected me to say: “kill the enemy, protect the friendlies, and bring everyone home alive.” We had a good laugh about that. But it illustrates an important point as a leader. He embodied the objectives and the message. He expected to hear it from my whenever I spoke. As a leader, sometimes you can feel like you are repeating yourself over and over. You get tired of saying the same thing over and over. But consistency and repetition of objectives, values, priorities are so important for them to truly sink into your team. Otherwise they are just on the bulletin board and no one could recite them if they tried. You need to bore yourself with repetition and weave your objectives into meeting agendas, project prioritization, innovations, promotions, raises, and everything you do as a company and team. Then you too can win in a market that feels like combat at times. What are the 3 objectives you have for your team as you close out 2024? There’s a story that looms large in military lore - and it’s shaped how I lead to this day. It’s called “Message to Garcia.” During the Spanish-American War, President McKinley tasked a soldier with delivering an urgent message to General Garcia. Here’s the catch: no one told the soldier exactly where Garcia was. No detailed instructions, no roadmap. The expectation? Figure it out. Get it done. This story isn’t just a relic of history - it’s a masterclass in empowerment and trust. Over my career, I’ve taken this lesson to heart - not just in how I solve problems but in how I lead others. When a direct report hits a roadblock, it’s tempting to swoop in with answers or take over. But by solving their problems for them, we unintentionally rob them of the chance to grow. Instead, set the mission, offer guidance, and step back. Let them navigate their own path to the objective. Sure, provide some scaffolding - like upfront training and being available as a sounding board. But resist the urge to micromanage the “how.” The reality is there are many ways to reach the same destination. The path doesn’t matter as much as the result. So, here’s my advice: give your team the mission and trust them to figure it out. It’s how high performers thrive, and how great teams get built.

In the wake of the failed assassination attempt of former President Trump, the world – and our industry specifically – is awash in speculation, conspiracy theories, criticism, judgement, and “expertise”. It is not my intent in this post to get into the details of what did/did not go right/wrong during this incident. I will remain silent and only echo Executive Security International President, Bob Duggan's comments that, once again, life has given us another historical example of the abysmal success rate of reactive techniques. What I will not remain silent on is the disgusting sexist rhetoric that is being levied at the female agents involved in the operation that day. I am disgusted and discouraged, at the plethora of anti-female, sexist, and misogynistic comments being thrown about – even by so called “experts” in our field. To put it bluntly, I challenge anyone to find a fault that occurred on July 13th, 2024 in Butler, PA that can be attributed to an protective agent having a uterus. You may have an issue with the height of a protective agent, the ability to re-holster (or whether re-holstering should have even been attempted) under stress, perceived “hiding” behind the protectee, the perception of fashion over function, etc. etc. NONE of these issues stem from the female gender. They are (and historically have been) issues that happen to protective agents on the dreadful day when the dragon visits, regardless of gender. You can train the scenario until it is perfect 100 times out of 100, but those of us who have been “on the X” know that there are no guarantees when the proverbial excrement hits the fan. As someone who unfortunately has had that “X” experience more times that I would have liked, I can attest that there isn’t a single time that I can recall everyone doing everything perfectly or following their training to a “T”. In fact, it has usually been a dumpster fire where training, skill and luck have played equal parts in a successful outcome. Thankfully, our incidents weren't captured and rebroadcast on international news channels for the world to sharp-shoot. There is a dire need for diversity in our field. This includes gender diversity. I have noticed a disturbing lack of females who answer the call to serve in our industry. I know they are out there, they are just alienated by the attitudes that are on full display right now across the internet. For those few brave enough to wade into these polluted waters, you have my respect. I know you already fight an uphill battle of discrimination, a general tolerance of these types of comments, and an overall laziness when it comes to enforcing proper moral and ethical conduct that is free from sexist and misogynistic attitudes. Thank you for facing it every day, not just on days where it is on display from an event that captures national news. It is my hope that someday (soon) we, as an industry, can be better than what we are displaying right now.

On tape, billionaire Sean "Diddy" Combs assaulted his ex. Shout out to CNN for releasing the footage. Get the billions, yachts, supercars, accolades, and mansions. However, you must also work on yourself. Money does not define a man. Your core defines who you are. To all of you who think money and status are the end all be all. Y’all need to think again. What can Diddy claim that Cassie did for him to beat and stomp on her like that? Absolutely nothing! There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior. This is exactly why values and principles (your core) are the most important. If you’re a messed-up individual on the inside, no amount of money is going to cover that up. Go after all the success in the world, and I wish you nothing but the best. The " Drone " Label - Hard Lesson For Covert America As humans we tend to forget things easily...remember Lonnie Zamora...the police officer who had a UFO sighting in Socorro New Mexico in 1964. I quote him - "ZAMORA: I went up that little road, for about half a mile, I guess, came up to this little parking (?) there on the side of the road, and I thought I'd glance out of the window, looked to my left and seen this white object on the ground. Thought that it might be a car that had turned over. Crossed the (?) to go out there to investigate, thought maybe somebody might be hurt. At that time, I saw this white, egg, like egg-shaped looking object... SHRODE: That it looked something like an egg, you mean? ZAMORA: Yeah, from that distance I was it looked like an egg to me... SHRODE: About the size of a car, I think someone said. ZAMORA: Yes sir, it looked like a car that had turned over, therefore I would say about the size of a car. The recent incident of what is being labeled as "drones" over NJ and other states is a hard lesson for covert America. Why, someone might ask, because covert America has spent so much time and effort over the years to keep this knowledge away from the American people, even from their own Congress. Covert America has been desperately trying to find a way to spin this recent sighting problem for weeks now claiming "drones' to "manned winged aircraft" and I understand why so as not to further alarm the public but at the same time not wanting the public to ask any more questions.  THE TECHNOLOGY UFO's use an artificial solar flare for limitless clean energy, this is disguised in radiant energy that is why most of the time one can only see a ball of white light, it is highly electrical. The reality of this situation is that these UFO's are trying to show the people a limitless clean energy structure so that we can get on it and move up the Kardashev Scale. The reality of the situation is that Nikola Tesla brought a part this technology a long way and into light - Radiant Energy. LEADERSHIP TRAITS FROM THE US ARMY - ENDURANCE Note of Context: In cleaning out accumulated stuff, I came across a 3-fold pocket card titled Leadership Guide issued by the US Army Infantry School in 1967 (my time in the army came later). Looking at it, I was amazed at how the guide stood the test of time, especially the 14 Desirable Traits of a Leader. In many ways, at various times society’s norms drifted away and back in a cycle. In sharing these traits, one post at a time, I have changed only one word, substituting “people” for “men”. Leadership Trait #5: Endurance – Mental and physical stamina measured by the ability to stand pain, fatigue, distress and hardship. At some point, it became very popular to use Sun Tzu’s 5th Century BC work, The Art of War, as source to draw strategies for business. Certainly though, when we talk about endurance, we cannot relate business situations with combat situations in a physical sense. However, is it not important to have mental and physical stamina to stand the pain, fatigue, distress and hardship of business situations such as these? ·      Completing a critical project to a deadline ·      Handling a difficult personnel situation which will lead to one or more dismissals ·      Downturn of business conditions affecting the organization ·      Struggling to find necessary capital Everyone in the organization draws strength from the leader who exhibits endurance when facing such challenges. I’m sad and angry to hear about the active shooter incident in Wisconsin. This is the second reported active shooter incident at a school in December alone! 36 incidents in 2024. When will we finally do something to prevent them rather than focus solely on gun control or response time? I advocate as a mother of young children that as adults not only talk about preventative solutions and we also teach our children. Too many adults say they are too scared to talk about it or it stresses them out to talk about it? This is why active shooter incidents will continue to happen. We’re choosing not to socialize the conversation and focus on root causes. 1. Mental health 2. Recognizing changes in behavior or identifying patterns and trends that have led to active shooter incidents 3. We need to have a reliable way of reporting and responding to information ourselves, outside of calling law enforcement which may not respond to a potential threat because they are addressing “active” threats What would you suggest we each can do to prevent active shooters?
