Why do companies invest in #DataLiteracy programs? One very big reason is to empower executives with knowledge, skills, and mindset for #DataDriven decision-making. What do most data literacy programs teach? Intro to data concepts, the role of data in gaining competitive advantage, and identifying key performance indicators and setting measurable goals. The assumption is that if the exec understands the data concepts, then she will indirectly develop (or automatically have?) the knowledge, skills and mindset for data-informed decision-making. Unfortunately, it doesn't work!
