❄️ As the weather gets colder, #GasReadiness is at the top of mind for both the gas and electric industries. The American Gas Association, alongside leading energy trade associations, is hosting its inaugural Natural Gas Readiness Forum on December 16-17 in Atlanta, Georgia. We’re proud to share that NGA will be an active participant, contributing to the Current Regional Readiness Coordination Panel.   Natural gas readiness is critical to ensuring reliability and resilience, especially during cold northeast winters. At NGA, we’re committed to keeping our region warm and the lights on. Here are some of the steps we’re taking:   ➡️ Managing our Gas Supply Task Force, an information clearinghouse for coordinating gas supply deliveries during peak demand or curtailment. ➡️ Convening our Gas Control Committee, which collaborates on gas control strategies and initiatives designed to enhance preparedness and improve member company’s interaction and communication. ➡️ Coordinating mutual assistance across the region in case of gas supply emergencies. ➡️ Conducting our annual Pre-Winter Briefing for our regulators and policymakers. ➡️ Co-chairing the joint Electric-Gas Operating committee with ISO New England Inc. ➡️ Managing a Gas/Electric Cross-Grid Management Committee. ➡️ Establishing a Clean Energy Committee with working groups focused on ensuring our industry is at the front of the energy evolution. ➡️ Partnering with Northeast Power Coordinating Council, Inc.
