This is an overdue post about Mike King and Melissa Murphy’s new Salesforce B2C Solution Architecture handbook. I remember reading Mike’s edition of this book several years ago when we were colleagues at Slalom; he put his heart and soul into the first version and I’m thrilled that 1) he did it again and 2) that the 2nd edition has a new section focused on Data Cloud penned by Melissa. Some key highlights. ☑️ 400+ pages covering many different products, leading practices, and considerations for designing and delivering well-architected solutions ☑️ Section 5 - “Know Your Customer with Data Cloud” provides some great callouts across 30+ pages that are dedicated to data cloud  ☑️ Some great specific callouts on using formula fields during ingestion vs. transforms (batch and/or streaming) to be mindful of the different ways you can achieve similar results ☑️ There are even questions at the end of the section to test your knowledge Whether you’re reading all of it, or specific sections that are relevant to you, I believe there’s valuable information in here for everyone. This was such a fun and challenging problem to work through! We leveraged diverse areas of the Microsoft platform (Azure, AI Services, Power Platform, & 365) to implement an effective and novel solution that significantly scaled University of Pittsburgh's ability to redact documents and process requests more effectively. The process we used to iteratively develop and hone this solution opened my eyes to the scale of impact of AI-based solutions and the ways they might be adapted to extend much deeper into areas like redaction. There could be options for the types of data to redact, using generic classifications (phone #, email, address, etc.) and even custom classifications using your own data! Imagine multimodal (images, video, audio) redaction or replacement; some of which we currently have but on a larger scale!

Really cool overview of how to extend the first-party Copilot in #Dynamics365 Sales with Microsoft #CopilotStudio. I love the deep level of integration of that copilot in the #PowerApps model-driven app context and #UX.

This is a small thing but speaks to the flexibility of Dynamics 365. Neil Parkhurst writes amazing little how-tos, like in this example of resizing the agent information panel. I work with companies that are looking at industry-specific CRMs, like in legal, but those platforms are simply inflexible - unable to scale across other critical systems of customer data and unable to provide a tailored user experience. #dynamics365 #crm

One of the things I love about learning ServiceNow is how tools like Flow Designer make it easy to streamline workflows without complex scripts! It reminds me of work I’ve done in my current role, where I used ServiceFusion to automate tasks like creating service tickets, sending client notifications, and managing technician schedules. I recently built a new employee onboarding flow in ServiceNow that automates everything from user account creation to task assignments and notifications. Seeing how these tools simplify work and improve efficiency is what keeps me excited about the platform! What’s your favorite process to automate in ServiceNow?
