Conducting User Research exclusively for roadmap priorities is an invitation for unknown unknowns to plague your adoption, usage, and retention efforts. Focus on conducting research to inform what's on the roadmap, to better understand the problem space, to avoid falling into the trap of learning what you think you want to know and missing what the users are trying to show are their actual problems. For the last little while I've been journaling some personal insights about being a mentor, the learning process, critical thinking, etc. I decided to take those thoughts and expand on them further in the form of a series of articles, which I will post on medium for the time being. ✍ In my first-ever article, I share insights from my experience mentoring aspiring designers. This article came from the question "How do you give feedback and help a design grow if they seem to be creating amazing work?". 🤔 As mentors, managers, etc., our role is more than just praise.
