“Rob understands what it takes to build trust, rapport and value to his patients. He is a phenomenal and well-respected leader in his field of directing and stream lining companies toward optimizing their gifts in today’s culture. I love everything you and Case Specific Nutrition are doing to reach today’s needs for health and wellness. By bringing cell optimization to the forefront, focusing on whole and sustainable foods, you provide life-sustaining H.O.P.E. for your patients. The education is key, in bite size chunks, to help navigate patients in taking steps to get their health back. You have already figured this out by placing Registered Dietitians on staff and utilizing Podcasts to streamline education into the patient’s hands. Providing the opportunity to get whole food, non-GMO and organic, easily on the table for our Prime Timers, (anyone in the second half of their life), busy working class and food desert areas of Greater Pittsburgh is key! I highly recommend Rob and Case Specific Nutrition to help you navigate through your health diagnosis and how this diagnosis relates to the foods you eat. In addition, providing an easy option for nutrient-dense foods at meal time is key in taking our health back. Thank you to Rob and his team for caring and meeting the needs of our patients. Case Specific Nutrition has developed a wonderful program to help you on your health journey! ”

What are some of the challenges or risks of implementing new wellness innovations in your workplace?
An ethical dilemma I often run into when working with employers is the sincere, but misplaced, motivation to implement highly specific programs. Examples - a solution that only manages heart disease or only supports type 2 diabetes. I feel this is an ethical dilemma is because A) people do not want to be known for their disease and B) individuals without the health concern feel left out. I believe we should help our employers find solutions capable of supporting all employees and plan enrollees with a range of goals, medical needs, and interests. Examples include, 1) nutrition and lifestyle education from licensed clinicians 2) access to telehealth or on-site primary care 3) mental health.

What are some of the challenges or risks of implementing new wellness innovations in your workplace?
Adoption barriers can be wide ranging, but rather than giving energy to why your workforce will be a challenge and thinking of all the reasons a wellness initiative could fail, I’ve found it useful to focus on building trust and psychological safety in the beginning. Invite anyone who is interested to sit at the table to share their insight and opinions on the wellness programs you’re team has vetted. Be honest about the goals of the program and make sure those goals include items that relate to your workforce such as making sure they age well and have work life balance. Yes, a wellness program can save an employer money, but that shouldn’t be the primary motivation for implementation.
