Post ponder repost of my original post, in response to comments… I’m the least technical of all who read this, and have commented, so I speak only “fluent end-user” and lean toward their sensibities. Here’s what I want to believe, having not seen this TV in action or in the field. 1) Such a HUGE and expensive bet on the wireless aspect, ESPECIALLY if it fails; I have to believe Samsung has the wireless technology fully vetted. Sync issues, intermittent dropouts, unacceptable picture disruptions - none of these are acceptable. How could they possibly release a product that hasn’t been thoroughly tested in all scenarios? 2) As for potential gaming lag - if it exists, use a different TV. This one is for displaying art or a family portrait until watching TV. 3) As a Samsung manufacturer’s representative in the PNW, I can tell you one thing 100% certain - a vast majority of dealers dislike the OCB because of the cable - and the fact that Samsung can’t get the longer one UL certified for in-wall. Better picture (presumably), wireless that works (likely), easier install (definitely), and no ugly black rectangle on the wall (absolutely). These are what I’m hanging my hat on for now.

No words are needed for this, in my opinion...but WOW, IMPRESSIVE..and the time it takes to ensure that the hands are the same position as the T-Shirt cannons, that takes some skill! I often debate this topic, so I've decided to make it into a post. Thank you, Mark Doherty, for initiating this conversation. The consensus is that LEDs require 25% less electricity and generate 25% less heat to produce the same light intensity as other technologies (I'm using 25% to keep this discussion simple). As a result of the reduced heat, LEDs allow for an increase in PPFD, which is directly linked to the potential yield. For instance, while HID technology typically yields about 30g/sq. ft. of marketable flower, our Dragon Alpha II's clients, such as Planet 13 in Vegas and Flower Power in Ft. Collins, CO, are reporting yields exceeding 100g/sq. ft. of premium flower. They are utilizing over 60 watts/sq. ft. compared to the standard 40 w/sq.ft. for HID's. Moreover, HID bulbs, which are chemical-based and operate by running current through a mixture of gases and materials, have a spectrum that changes over time as the bulbs age. In contrast, LEDs provide a consistent spectrum and allow for electronic adjustments to the diodes, enabling control over various colored diodes to achieve the desired spectrum. Previously, with HIDs, we were limited to three spectrum options: HPS, MH, or 10K (Finishing Bulbs), using MH for vegetative growth and HPS for flowering. Now, LEDs offer dynamic spectrum adjustability, freeing cultivators from being confined to one or two spectrum choices and opening up many possibilities. For example, recent research on blueberries has shown that adding red and far-red spectrums to traditional spectrums can significantly impact the fruit's antioxidant and sugar content.  This applies to peppers, strawberries, and many other fruits as well. However, this is only the beginning. Institutions like CSU and UNC are conducting research on annuals, perennials, and food crops. Agricultural research companies are examining the effects of light spectrum on corn, soy, and potato crops, while experts like Bruce Bugbee are exploring the influence of spectrum on hemp and cannabis. Spectrum can be utilized to direct crop growth and alter morphological characteristics of plants, such as internodal length, leaf diameter, and root-to-shoot ratios. Additionally, dynamic spectrum can be employed to trigger cryptochrome/phytochrome responses, simulating a circadian rhythm-like effect in plants. Our clients' switch from HID to LED lighting has led to a 10% increase in THC levels, a doubling of yield (watt for watt), and enhanced cannabinoid/terpene production that HID lighting does not achieve. Those still using HIDs are producing half the amount their LED-using counterparts can, at higher costs and lower quality. The question remains: how will they continue to compete?

Dawning Days of DRM Chapter 2 Blu-ray Episode 5 AACS (2) The ACMS face to face meetings were held at such venues as greater Los Angeles area, Almaden, CA, Bellevue, WA, Portland, OR, Tempe, AZ, New York, NY, Washington, DC, Tokyo, Osaka and island of Maui, HI. The participants preferred to set up meetings at places away from their home so that they were able to negotiate all day/night long. Meeting at a resort place such as Hawaii sounds nice but in reality they spent almost entire day at the meeting rooms of a hotel where all of them stayed without even enjoying sunshine or beach. In addition, small group dinner became another opportunities for negotiations.   My already congested schedule became much more complicated, even though I got greatly assisted by legal and IP staff, technical experts and an outside counsel – Bruce. It was miracle to have orderly arranged all the activities because I was extremely tied up not only for Blu-ray related matters but also for new DRMs for mobile phone and IPTV, all of which required heavy travel with more than 150,000 miles, mostly to and from the US and Europe, and 100 nights stay at hotels per year. Having repeated this sort of frequent travel for more than two decades, I earned the status of a million miler for each of three major airline partners and that of lifetime elite for each of two major hotel chains.   Having members from 3 major industries - CE, IT and Motion Pictures – looks great for deciding everything on their favor. However, it was extremely hard and took enormous amount of time to decide anything for differences of business interests and approaches. It was not simple structure of technology industry vs, Hollywood. As experienced in the context of DVD, even an agreement between CE and IT was not easy. [Please see “Chapter 1 DVD Episode 6 CPTWG” to learn more about this sort of complexity] Besides, there was an element of format war. A lot of disputes took place at the meetings. Frequently sidebar negotiations and caucuses occurred just outside the main meeting room or at the breakout rooms. Nevertheless, at least to the extent visible from the outsiders, the ACMS founders tried to look united and speak for one voice.   On July 14, 2004, exactly three months after 8 founders got together for the first time, press release of AACS headlining “CROSS-INDUSTRY ALLIANCE TO FACILITATE COMPELLING NEW CONSUMER ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCES” stole the business section of major newspapers such as Wall Street Journal and New York Times. [Note: The term AACS was used in public for the first time] “Never before has a triumvirate of industry support emerged with such a clear, common vision for growing audience entertainment convenience for anytime, anyplace enjoyment of media without sacrificing the digital rights of artists, studios, and content owners,” said Richard Doherty, Research Director for the Envisioneering Group, a technology research and consulting company based in Seaford, N.Y..
