You're striving to stay ahead in a competitive market. How can you avoid being reactive?
Don't be reactive, but be responsive. The difference is some time to reflect an approach thoughtfully, not driven by emotion or panic. You are no good to anyone, especially customers if you are in panic mode. Reflect and respond to the changing market, emerging technologies, and other industry changes with a thoughtful approach. Stay connected to others and ask about how they see things, how they are adapting and responding. Learn from everyone and use that input to inform your decisions. Be responsive.

Your digital strategy team lacks balance. How can you ensure both creativity and analysis are equally valued?
Don’t try to balance the two. The premise of the question is flawed. Analytics is far more important in digital today than creative. This is the new model. Creative can be outsourced and even automated today with the help of AI (Analytics can too to a degree). Digital is a perpetual process of A/B testing for performance. It’s algorithms and algo tweaking. The data will tell you clearly what is working and what is not. Creative is subjective guess work. Data is objective truth.

You're faced with a hesitant potential partner for your entrepreneurial vision. How do you win them over?
Articulate the vision and the potential of what the business can become and how it will help customers. If the partner is genuinely excited about this vision, discuss a mission statement. If you can alignin on a common mission statement where you are both really pumped, the rest is details (equity split, compensation, stockholder/founder agreement - what happens if one of you leaves, etc.). If all they want to focus on is the equity, pay, exit, etc... run away. Ask "How long are you prepared and able to work with $0 salary earning founder equity?" How long are you? Double both the TIME and INVESTMENT in your business plan. If you both aren't will to do that, you should both walk away.

Co-Chair of the "Run of Kids Club" Half Marathon event intended to raise awareness of the BGC Mercer County Club, as well as be a fundraiser for the club, including the initiation of an Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy program, as well as college access scholarship program. In our first three years, we've raised just under $500,000 for the Club and established several wonderful programs, including the above, that are changing kids lives for the better through education and mentorship.
