An underrated feature of LlamaIndex for advanced LLM developers is query pipelines: the ability to define very custom LLM pipelines as DAGs, letting you mix both prepackaged modules you don’t want to write (e.g. retrievers, SQL integration) as well as custom functions. This means our customers can now customize Claude 3 Haiku with their own data to build GenAI applications tailored to their specific needs, while keeping their data secure. Since we launched the preview a few months ago, we've already seen some great use cases. One of our customers, Robin AI, a legal AI company, is using this feature to optimize legal workflows and help lawyers speed up contract processes. In this demonstration, Tom Scott tackled a real-world scenario where a retailer's transaction data was producing erroneous results due to an unusually large exchange rate for the Zimbabwean Dollar. This anomaly caused transactions with this currency to be recorded with a zero value, effectively making them invalid and impacting financial reports and operations. This anomaly caused the transaction amounts to reduce to zero, disrupting operations and creating confusion. By leveraging #indexing, we swiftly identified the root cause of the problem—the incorrect exchange rate—allowing us to rectify the issue promptly.
