HP recently released the 2024 Work Relationship Index (WRI), breaking down the state of the world’s relationship with work.   Interestingly, the research shows that when employees feel like their work experiences are more personalized and their leaders demonstrate empathy, organizations see an increase in productivity and retention, as well as an overall impact on well-being. These are critical points to consider when creating policies and culture around hybrid work as the latest WRI research found only 28% of global knowledge workers have a healthy relationship with work.   Ensuring that technology plays a positive role in enabling workers’ ability to execute their role is a fundamental tenant HP is aspiring to when providing workforce experiences. I appreciated the dialogue at #FortuneGlobalForum this week with Andrew Nusca from Fortune and Kate Johnson from Lumen Technologies about AI’s rapid shift from concept to real-world impact.   To adopt AI at scale, you must have a North Star. The industrial sector’s North Star is accelerating the path to autonomy with the powerful trifecta of 5G, Cloud and AI coming together to solve the critical challenges of skill shortages and asset maximization.   We also discussed the critical importance of collaboration and sharing capabilities across ecosystems. Each company brings its strengths to solve customer problems together and scale faster -- we should not repeat and learn what others have already figured out. #NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated in a keynote in March “Everybody who is building these chatbots and generative AI, when you’re ready to run it, you’re going to need an AI factory. Nobody is better at building end-to-end systems of very large scale for the enterprise than Dell.” We have been delivering on that statement .... and still do... Cloud-first strategy was yesterday. Modern business needs seamless integration of compute and storage from the Edge to the Core data centers to the Cloud, providing full flexibility and scalability for application workloads. As we start to close out another year, it’s incredible to reflect on how rapidly the tech landscape has evolved. The past year alone has brought meteoric transformation, and the pace shows no signs of slowing as we head into 2025.   One projection that caught my attention recently came from a Deloitte study. It forecasts that by 2025, women’s use of Generative AI will match - or even exceed - that of men. This is a remarkable shift, given that in 2023, women’s usage was just half that of men. In the past year alone, the proportion of women using GenAI in the U.S. has tripled, with some regions on track to achieve parity by 2025 or 2026.   This resonates with me for two key reasons. First, it highlights how AI is being embraced as a valuable tool by a growing and diverse population, countering the narrative that AI is only a source of concern or risk. Second, importantly, it challenges outdated stereotypes, showing that technology is truly for everyone - regardless of gender, background, or ethnicity.   I look forward to seeing this trend continue and to a future where GenAI and technology adoption reflect the inclusivity we all strive for.
