In the event of the World Science Day on November 10, 2024, I, along with an amazing panel of speakers will be there at the IIT, DU Auditorium from 4 pm to 6 pm and onwards and will be discussing how the future of AI will unfold for the humanity and next generation. Our focus will be on AI and having outstanding achievements for Bangladesh2.0 in the years to come. This year's Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry have both been claimed by AI research. With this in mind, the purpose of Sunday's discussion is to explore how we can welcome our teenagers and young people into the world of AI and whether we can provide them with a roadmap for the future. In this year's Bangladesh AI Olympiad, we saw some school students who are interested in the subject, and with guidance, they could do very well in this field. Overall, it’s promising. However, the numbers are still not very large. This means that the concept hasn't yet spread everywhere. You, along with the panelists, can participate in this discussion and think about how we can move forward. At NVIDIA’s AI Summit, I met Anshul Khandelwal, Co-founder and CTO of invideo, and attending his insightful session on their lip-sync model. They serve 25 million users, the model leverages NVIDIA’s StyleGAN with audio-driven style learning to deliver realistic, high-quality lip sync while maintaining facial identity, which stood out. Anshul also shared the challenges of scaling the model and the key lessons learned during its development. To efficiently handle their large user base, they utilize TensorRT and Triton Inference Server to optimize performance and reduce costs. The session dived into how AI is transforming video content creation, empowering creators to produce high-quality multimedia experiences with ease. Commoditization of AI models Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of watching Aravind Srinivas' (founder of Perplexity) interview with Aarthi Ramamurthy and Sriram Krishnan . It's a great interview and I would recommend AI founders to watch it if possible. https://lnkd.in/gnM2NeS8 Couple of things that stuck me from the interview: 1. Aravind believes in the commoditization of AI models in the long run. His take his firms like Perplexity which focus on user problems and solve for it using relevant models will win. Perplexity does it quite well, do check them out if you haven't already. This is something that AI entrepreneurs should think about. Creating foundational models is freaking expensive! and for conservative capital allocators like us it is too risky a bet (not betting on AI is even riskier 😅, I guess we need to learn more) I am going to tag the platform Guru and distinguished IIMB alumnus Sangeet Paul Choudary for his take on this. 2. The initial employees (5-10) have to be truth seekers rather than social affirmers(?) It was great hearing him talk about the culture at Perplexity of seeking the truth through open conversations and arguments on Slack rather than provide positive affirmation. I think it's something that every founder should strive for. Truth will prevail in the longer run. This works in technology, finance, politics, society, anywhere. (Satyamev Jayate is true in itself!) But to be able to have an open conversation, the founders need to have depth themselves. This is something that I feel the Indian ecosystem lacks, as most of the founders seem to be managerial in nature. I find them shifting to jargons rather than simplicity when questioned deeper. (By the way this is a classic test to check whether someone really knows it, people who know what they are talking about will make it simpler, those who don't take the cover of jargons to increase complexity and portray intelligence) I understand my analysis could be biased due to self-selection, and I would love to be proven wrong. It's pretty cool that Aravind chose Larry Page as his favourite entrepreneur due to their common background of coming from academic research to entrepreneurship. What I definitely don't agree with Aravind on The idea that luck doesn't play a role in outcomes. Successful people generally attribute success to their hard work/smartness / enterprise without understanding their privilege. For e.g. A smarter/more hardworking/more enterprising Dalit girl from Bihar will never have the kind of opportunities that I had as a Tam Bram born in a lower-middle class but very well educated family in Chennai. One has tried to solve for it using our Sakhi Scholars programme, which supports gifted girls from underprivileged communities to achieve their dream through financial support. On a lighter note, Aravind is a 2017 IIT-M alum and has already built a $8 billion company, what the hell am I doing with my life? 🤔

Under this, we are trying to understand the status quo for state adoption of AI/ ML technologies in India. A FEW TIPS ON HOW TO WIN UPTO Rs. 2 CR in this call by ARTPARK at Indian Institute of Science (IISc). At a high level, this diagram sums it up. The application form is concise. Read on... They are opportunities for you to share relevant information in a concise, structured and precise manner. TEXT RESPONSES: Unnecessarily long responses will not help. The character limits are generous (2000 - 3000) so as not to constrain you. Aim for short, precise answers that show real understanding. For example, when asked about a market for your automation solution, you might be tempted to claim "all manufacturing." To us that will only show you haven't really taken a close look at which sub-segments are likely to be your earliest customers. An answer like "manufacturers of PCBs for home appliances" would be better. Similarly, when asked to share potential customers "healthcare" is almost useless. "Tertiary care hospitals that deal with emergency stroke patients" is better. Giving examples of potential customers, or those you are in discussions with for development/pilots would be even more useful. FILES: We allow you up to 210MB (total) to upload files. But do not overwhelm us with a ton of files. We will miss the important stuff trying to sift through it all! Share the most important files to help us understand your solution, its differentiation, and the evidence of progress you have made. Also, name every file in a way that will help us understand what is in the file without opening it. If you are uploading a compressed zip file, include a file named "directory.txt" -- a simple text file with the list of files included and what each file contains. OVERVIEW PRESENTATION: This tends to be one of first things reviewers look at, before going through your text responses and other files. Again, the trick is to be precise. We recommend 6 slides excluding title slide. If you have full-slide pictures or diagrams, it may be okay to take a couple of slides more. The instructions are clear regarding what we want to see in those slides. TEAM SLIDE: Photos are not important. Lengthy descriptions and bios are not useful. In just a few words, convey the role and the credentials & skills relevant to their role in your team. Feel free to include links to their online profiles, CVs or even Github, if you want us to learn more about them. Everyone on your team is important, but prioritize as per their level of leadership and contribution. Adding famous "advisors" who are barely involved does not help.
