A look at the challenges and barriers ER nurses face when discharging patients. Four themes emerge: the need for improved care coordination, education throughout the patient's visit, treating the patient's actual needs, and early identification of those needs. These themes are illustrated in a short video presentation. An annotated bibliography accompanies the video looking at the research behind the themes.
