Three things everyone knows about #MVP: 1. It's Minimal 2. It's Viable 3. It's a Product Three things often misunderstood about MVP (starting with the second bullet): 2. It should work outside your lab, without ridiculous hand-holding on your part. Onboarding is fine and is a good way to get feedback and create a long-lasting relationship with your customer. 3. It solves a REAL problem for a REAL user. 1. The one most #ProductManagers miss: Minimal ≠ Small. Think about the MVP for a spaceship 🚀 . It's an extremely big and complex project, even for the MVP. I've had the privilege to know Max Kanat-Alexander for the last year through our Hangar DX community, and since then I've learned so much about DevEx him. Max is the author of Code Simplicity, was a TL at Google who defined the code review guidelines and was also the Chief architect of the Bugzilla project. For a while now I've been asking a bunch of different questions to people trying to discover where the pain is in their product development process. Most of them have changed, but this one is just too useful to skip. 👇 How does a feature go from an idea in someone's head to production at your company? It's high level enough to find if we're solving valuable problems, but low level enough for me to get new insights every time I talk to someone. This week I've been getting back onto the discovery horse after a long break in December, as well as a bunch more user testing. What's your best discovery question?

We probably have more cross-project collaboration at The Gnar Company than most software agencies. Any pull requests that go up get posted on a pull request channel across the whole team. So even though most of our engineers are fully dedicated to a single project, they’re still seeing code from other work and getting their own code reviewed by others with a fresh perspective. Plus, every few weeks we have “Show the Codes” event. If there’s interest in a certain subject or a particularly interesting project, we throw some code up on the screen during lunch and talk about it. It’s normal to learn and grow based on reps at the individual engineer or even project level, but we think we can get better even faster by creating opportunities to learn at the company level. #softwaredevelopment #codereview #showthecode

Couldnt align more to this - why add YAF (Yet Another Feature) when you can refine, prune, and streamline a feature in your existing product offering... On the engineering side this is also beneficial as it is less Cognitive Load and more time to cover Engineering PASS (Performance, Availability, Security, & Scalability)
