Outside of work developed an Android messaging app that lets you send messages similar to Whatsapp. The difference between my app and other messaging platforms in that, this is time based message delivery. You can set the message to be delivered at a future time. You can also send reminders to yourself a feature that is only now supported in Whatsapp. I released this for Android. My main motivation for writing app was, I think a timed message is very useful in multiple situations. Apart from simple situations like bithday or anniversay reminders, this can be useful in security situations. For example, you are going on a remote hike by yourself, or you are going on a blind date, you can setup a message to be delivered to your selected contacts at a specific time - incase they did not hear from you. When everything goes ok, you can safely delete the message so it is not even delivered. Such messages can come in handy in multiple situations. I did not market it well, there was not much traction, so, have removed it from the store. I believe such a tool is needed and helpful and I may revisit this if no one offers such a feature. Feel free to send me a message if you would like more information.
