How can you hire employees who share your startup's values?
Remember, every time you hire someone (especially early on), you are, in fact, adding to the culture of your organization. Different personalities, skills, and backgrounds will all shape and mold your company, its collective culture, and the values that drive you forward. How and who you hire is crucial to the success of your company. While you shouldn't allow yourself to be paralyzed by the importance of hiring the "perfect person" (because that person doesn't exist), you also shouldn't take it lightly.

How do you manage cash flow when your startup fails?
It's important to get control before your overall burn creates a situation where you have to conduct a layoff or, worse yet, wind down operations. A few things I have put into place to help control expenses: - Process for purchasing technology or other SaaS tools. Have a special credit card in place for these purchases so you can audit expenses. - A milestone budget where spending is unlocked by hitting your revenue targets. And when targets are missed, know when and where to cut before it becomes detrimental. - Financial transparency with your team - as much as possible- so everyone feels ownership in the overall success of the organization. - Teach your teams about runway and what impacts it! Educating increases ownership.

How do you manage employee turnover in your startup?
It's very important to recognize that not all employees will be a "right fit" for all of the stages your startup will go through. And that's okay. Someone who is a right fit today may not be a right fit in a year or two. Startups evolve, change, and grow at a pretty fast pace and in order to be successful, you have to quickly adapt how you hire as you see your needs change.

But, this year there’s a twist...
The People’s Choice – TOP 100 CS Strategists list took a brand new approach. Aimed at finding those influencers flying under the radar, we opened up the polls to allow people to add nominees they wanted to recognize for outstanding work…It started with creating a master list comprising social influencers (utilizing Sprinklr to scrub for influence on LinkedIn, Twitter, and blogs), then adding in conference speakers, authors, and industry game changers.
But, this year there’s a twist...
The People’s Choice – TOP 100 CS Strategists list took a brand new approach. Aimed at finding those influencers flying under the radar, we opened up the polls to allow people to add nominees they wanted to recognize for outstanding work. In fact, over 20 percent of this year’s list came from write-in nominations. As a result, the final list lets the world know what the industry as a whole is thinking. It gives balance to a weighted system allowing those lesser known names, but still highly qualified candidates, to surface and join the ranks of the more familiar leaders.
