“Liz was able to partner cross-functionally to build a process that helped multiple teams be successful despite limited and competing resources. She was able to work at a macro level as well as roll up her sleeves to do the analysis, process design, and change management needed to help us all run more effectively and balance customer requests with product development. Liz was great to work with and hope to do so again! ”

How can you organize your team's work for easy access?
As a product manager of a portfolio of features, consider organizational approaches that will work for yourself, and for your cross-functional colleagues. Not everyone may be comfortable with one central repository (Marketing may prefer Google Docs, Design may like Dropbox Paper, Engineering may like Confluence). In that scenario, for yourself, at least make sure cross-linking regularly occurs and that you always have access to the latest versions of things (if soft copies), or the most up-to-date links to the sources of truth in the place that that department has established as a norm.

What are the best practices for giving and receiving feedback in a design review?
Listen to understand. Trust that your peers have the best intentions and don't get defensive. If feedback comes in the form of a question, don't feel pressured to know all the answers. Create a parking lot of unanswered questions and feedback, and prioritize the information you need to know right away, and what you'll make a conscious decision to answer during the research or alpha stage.
