Highly underrated tip for UI/UX. It’s not about design. It’s about this ↓ Get Crystal Clear on Your Business Goals. Here’s why: 1. User experience starts with business alignment. Design is powerful, but it must solve business problems. • Understand your company’s mission • Align your designs with KPIs • Know how your design will drive business outcomes When your design speaks the language of business, it resonates. 2. Without clarity, design is just aesthetics. A beautiful design won’t move the needle if it’s not tied to business success. • Define goals before designing • Prioritize user needs that align with business objectives • Collaborate with stakeholders to get everyone on the same page Purpose-driven design leads to measurable impact. 3. Involve stakeholders from the beginning. Get everyone’s buy-in early on. • Set clear expectations for what design needs to achieve • Get feedback on business objectives before diving into wireframes • Stay aligned with leadership and key stakeholders throughout the project Alignment saves time and avoids costly missteps. 4. Measure your success with data. Design isn’t just subjective it should be measurable. • Use analytics to track the performance of your design • Set up A/B tests to validate decisions • Continuously monitor how your design impacts the business Data makes design decisions smarter. 5. Keep iterating based on business performance. Design should never be static. • Review performance regularly • Use business insights to inform new iterations • Iterate quickly to stay ahead of market changes A business-driven mindset keeps your design relevant. Remember, your UI/UX designs should never be isolated from the business. Aligning both leads to meaningful, impactful products. We’re often taught a linear process when it comes to building software, right? Discovery → Define → Design → Release But what happens when you land a job right in the middle of that process? After countless decisions have been made? What do you do? --- I’ve seen so many new designers expect to start a job and hit the ground running. 🏇 They want to impress everyone. 🤿 They’ll jump straight into designs.  🏅 They’ll expect to contribute to meetings. 😖 Then they’re surprised when no one listens. --- Building great software is hard. We know that. Not only is the code complex. There may be tons of flows, features, screens, components, and copy to think about and keep track of. Then there are the hundreds of conversations, debates, arguments, and decisions that went into coming up with all the code, flows, features, screens, components, and copy. That’s all well and good when you were there from the beginning, but how often are we actually starting all of this from scratch? The chances are good when you land a job you’re replacing someone who recently left or you’re part of a growing team. Either way, a lot of these decisions have been made and you need to help execute. If you *really* want to help execute, you can’t start from the middle. You need to start from the start. ✅ Starting from the start is about understanding the context. ✅ It’s about breaking up bigger problems into more digestible chunks. ✅ It’s about looking back at everything you know you know. ✅ It’s about getting a better sense of what you don’t yet know. 🎯 Here are a few key takeaways: ▶️ You’re likely going to end up in the middle of a process: When you start a new job, you’re most likely going to end up on a team that has already started work. Spend the first month getting to know the people, the processes, and the overall context. ▶️ Don’t rush into it: You *could* skip the context and jump to one specific solution, but you may be totally wrong at best, or risk hurting your credibility with the team at worst. You won’t get fired for doing your due diligence. ▶️ It’s a marathon, not a sprint: You’ve often got time to take a step back and consider the larger problem. You may not have months or even weeks, but even if you’ve only got a few hours, do what you can to get the context before settling on a solution. ▶️ You won’t have all the answers: Unless you’re a software team of one, your team will have insights you aren’t aware of. They may have additional context and additional insights. Reach out to your team and see what they have to say. ▶️ Avoid confirmation bias: Chances are good you’ll have some ideas in your head. There’s nothing wrong with that. But be sure to avoid confirming your suspicions or validating your ideas simply because they’re your ideas. Be objective and open to anything. --- So the next time you’re faced with a big problem, take a step back and start from the start. #UXdesign #SoftSkills

Next time you see a poorly designed website, don't just close the tab. Take note of what could be improved and how you would do it different. Redesign it for practice and send it to the owners. You never know, they might like it so much they'll have you redesign it for real.

Here are the 10+ things I do as a Squarespace developer to a SQPS site before I build a single page: 1. Add color palette + assign colors 2. Select base font size (16px) 2. Select heading font + styling 3. Select paragraph font + styling 4. Style primary + secondary buttons 5. Select site width (3000px) + margin 6. Set site to private + add password 7. Set up CSS organizing template 8. Add any custom fonts + global styles 9. Create Style Guide page, one section for each color theme used 10. Organize asset library with pages

I've noticed a small detail about the new Figma update: panels seem to detach when minimized. I'm not sure if this is intentional or a bug, but I thought I'd share in case it helps improve the user experience. Figma . . #figma #UXdesign

So mainly the “Make Design” ai feature in Figma is basically pulling things from Figmas’s newly introduced “Simple Design System “ and not an ai making designs on its own 🥲 #figma #figmaai

Tell me you are creating a design tool for non-designers without telling me you are creating a design tool for non-designers. 🙃 Figma's Make Designs AI feature has been removed for weeks, and I do not miss it for a second. Figma claims they've designed it so the design could be easily customized and styled using the tools professional designers already love. However, adjusting the corner radius by moving a slider and choosing color and front from a few predefined options is not how professional designers would do it. 🤷‍♂️ We are nerds and freaks who love to have control over every single pixel. Luckily, other AI features stayed in the product, and I already use them daily. So, if you ask me, they don't even need to bother bringing Make Designs back.
