Energy Transfer Announces Pipeline Project Connecting Permian Basin Production Supplies to Multiple Markets - Energy Transfer LP has announced a final investment decision for constructing a new intrastate natural gas pipeline connecting Permian Basin production to markets and trading hubs. - The pipeline, previously known as the Warrior Pipeline, is now renamed the Hugh Brinson Pipeline in honor of Hugh Brinson. - The pipeline aims to provide increased transportation capacity to meet the growing demand for natural gas. - Phase I of the project will include approximately 400 miles of 42-inch pipeline with a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day extending from Waha to Maypearl, Texas, expected to be operational by the end of 2026. - The construction will also include a 42-mile, 36-inch lateral known as the Midland Lateral to connect processing plants in Martin and Midland Counties. - Phase II plans to add compression to increase the pipeline's capacity to about 2.2 billion cubic feet per day, contingent on shipper demand. - The combined cost for Phases I and II is projected at approximately $2.7 billion, backed by long-term commitments from reputable counterparties. - The pipeline will connect shippers to Energy Transfer’s existing intrastate network and offer access to major hubs throughout Texas and beyond. - The project is expected to enhance Energy Transfer's position in supporting growth for power plants and data centers in Texas. - Energy Transfer LP operates one of the largest and most diversified energy asset portfolios in the U.S. with over 130,000 miles of pipeline. https://lnkd.in/gpfF6G32

Permian Basin Gas Production Pushes Limits – Infrastructure Expansion Needed! The #PermianBasin’s rapid #gas production is putting existing infrastructure to the test. Despite fluctuating natural gas prices, demand for expanded capacity continues to rise. Nigel Gorbold of East Daley Analytics shared insights at Hart Energy's A&D Strategies conference, noting that even new pipelines like the Matterhorn Express, which reached 1.5 Bcf/d within a month, are filling up quickly. With AI, LNG exports, and #energy-hungry data centers set to drive additional demand—up to 7.4 Bcf/d by 2030—the energy sector needs more infrastructure to keep pace. Upcoming projects, like the Blackcomb and Trident #pipelines, aim to address this gap. Latin America has enormous potential to lead the global energy transition, but opportunities are getting cornered by the challenging bureaucracy and extensive time on environmental impact studies, which are delaying project investment. Investing in clean energy is more than a strategic choice; it's a commitment to the planet, but governmental institutions are not totally aligned in pursuing it diligently. It is imperative that projects should not affect sensitive ecosystems, so the adequate studies must be completed, but we only need to have them done efficiently and pointing out corrections as necessary, so investors can decide to move on the project with actions, in a timely manner. In the region, several potential projects for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia, might miss the market opportunity exporting to Europe, due to delayed schedule and eventual arrival of new suppliers. First one to reach to the market, will be taking it.   We need to reevaluate conditions and improve them:  ➞ Government initiatives: increased incentives for sustainable projects. ➞ Insufficient infrastructure: difficulty integrating new technologies into existing networks. ➞ Local environmental impacts: the need to be accelerated, providing urgency on their tasks and conclusions, ensuring no damaging sensitive ecosystems. ➞ Access to financing: reduce obstacles for small and medium-sized projects to obtain capital. Feedback is always welcome, as well other points of view and solutions to overcome these challenges.

There is no doubt that natural gas is key in the #energetictransition process in Latin America (low environmental impact, infrastructure already available...), but as Dr. Andrés Schuschny points out in this article, we must not lose sight of the fact that it is still a finite resource and a CO2 generator. Our continent has plenty of natural resources to replace gas. The case of Mexico with, for example, #solarenergy, is a good example; we receive about 5.5 kWh/m² of solar radiation per day, so, if we want, we can become a world leader in this type of #energy. Our governments must now abandon their appreciation for gas and prioritize investments in #renewableenergies and storage technologies, taking advantage of the natural wealth of each region as a sustainable path to the future.

‘Tis the Season for Midstream Deals and Decisions in the Permian Jingle bells are ringing this week in the Land of Oil and Gas A-plenty where midstream operators are already unwrapping holiday gifts. Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest from the Permian, starting with Midland, Texas-based rockstars Kinetik Midstream and E&P Permian Resources. Kinetik, which in short order has become the Delaware’s largest independent gatherer and processor, operates 4,600+ miles of natural gas and crude oil pipe, and six gas plants with another under construction and another one planned. The company in 3Q reported $83.7 million in net income—a 94% increase year over year—and fattened its stake in Diamondback Energy’s EPIC crude pipeline to 27.5%. Kinetik will now further expand its “super system” in a $180 million bolt-on deal for Permian Resources’ Delaware oil and gas midstream assets. Kinetik gains 60,000 gross acres dedicated by Permian Resources under long-term, fixed-fee agreements that include 150 MMCFD and an estimated 250 MBPD next year, 250 MMCFD of compression, and natural gas processing. For its part, Permian Resources is sticking to its guns to remain the Delaware’s lowest-cost operator. This, after announcing a third consecutive increase to its full-year production targets and 160.8 MBPD announced in 3Q. Rock on, rockstars. Energy Transfer meanwhile has gifted Permian producers with a FID on the formerly named Warrior natural gas pipeline project. Now known as the Hugh Brinson, the 400-mile pipeline will flow an initial 1.5 BCFD from the Waha Hub to its pipeline connection south of Fort Worth. “Miami fuel oil” started out in the early 1980s, against a backdrop of rising North Sea crude production and considerable turbulence in the Middle East. In its early days, the forum was made up mainly of US utilities, with the goal of sharing best practices on oil-fired power production: how to best store oil; how to deal with contaminants; etc. But it didn’t take long for the oil suppliers to find out about it, and before long a thriving networking event was born – a must-attend event for the thirsty traders of London, Houston, New York & Singapore. Several decades later, the geopolitical backdrop is no less turbulent, but it’s no longer the American utilities that are bringing the traders to town. Latin America is the market they’re looking to, and Miami is the perfect place for deals to be struck. Last year we kicked this event off with a keynote address from the formidable Harry Sargeant, whose GOMG has become a rare channel for Venezuelan petroleum exports. And this year, we’re excited to be joined by World Kinect CEO Michael Kasbar, who turned a fuel oil brokering idea into a billion-dollar business. We’ll also have panels of trading managers from North & Latin America, and some market insights from Argus’ own experts. 🌵 Fortis B.C. and Énergir lead in RNG blending in natural gas pipelines 🌵 In 2023, North American utilities drove the majority of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) demand, outpacing corporate usage by an estimated 9:1 ratio, according to cCarbon. Utilities used around 10 million MMBtu, with Canadian leaders like Fortis B.C. and Énergir spearheading RNG integration into natural gas pipelines. Meanwhile, corporate entities also utilized RNG, showcasing a growing interest in RNG as a decarbonization option. enCore Energy celebrated the restart of the Alta Mesa Plant and Wellfield in south Texas on October 3rd, featuring an exclusive conversation with George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States. 🇺🇸 enCore Energy’s In-Situ Recovery Uranium Processing Plants play a significant role in the local economy; enCore has a workforce of 134 employees, the majority of whom attended the Grand Opening. 👏 With the restart of Alta Mesa (as well as the Rosita Plant that restarted last year), enCore creates new jobs, affording local residents the convenience of working nearby and reducing the necessity for long-distance travel.
