Groupon and LivingSocial lead this rapidly developing marketplace of some 500 players, which now include Facebook, Google and AT&T. Daily deals and group buying encompasses destination sites; credit card companies facilitating online transactions; and white-label providers working with local media providers such as directory companies, newspapers, and radio and television operators.
