Great piece by Marc Benioff about the productivity potential we are unlocking with AI agent capabilities. One of Marc's resonant examples in this piece is college tutors - to date, out of reach for so many students, but now with the increasingly realistic proposition that every student will have access to high quality, personalized college prep. Fantastic insight into the current state of healthcare IT and SaaS offerings by my teammate Eric Snyder, and can easily be applied to academic IT as well. So many times institutions have to settle for expensive software that doesn’t fully fit their needs, or multiple solutions to meet organizational goals, while still leaving a large technical burden on employees to implement and use the software on a daily basis. Many of these pitfalls can be avoided by having a small, dedicated development team create custom solutions that perfectly fit the users needs. While skilled developers can be expensive, compared to the cost ineffective software licensing, lost productivity, and contractor support to augment your IT group, in house development on many occasions can save your organization money and time when implemented properly.

Fantastic for case review. Still problematic in practice. The hard work of diagnosis is not asking what the evidence means, but asking the right questions in the first place - this is why medical misdiagnosis is one of the leading causes of death. It bothers me deeply that researchers are focussed on diagnostic accuracy on retrospective case data. Looking for very low false negative rates in interactive (interrogative!) diagnosis far more important. Predictors of *what to do* (including what to ask!), even more so, and the only thing likely to move outcomes for patients. One of my previous companies had a pretty nifty solution to that before LLMs stole the show. *grumble grumble*
