Aboard the Gruyère Space Program (GSP) student-built rocket hopper, Colibri, is a JAVAD TR-2S GNSS OEM board. Colibri is GSP's bi-propellant vertical take-off and landing (VTVL) rocket for launcher reuse and interplanetary landers. With the TR-2S aboard, Colibri consistently maintained a 1cm fix throughout 100-meter flight, despite the harsh vibrations and dynamic flight conditions. The team's efforts led to Europe's first free-flying hopper. EASA is taking the threat of GPS spoofing and jamming seriously. That being said there is still a lot more that needs to be done. For example at Spirent Positioning, Navigation, and Timing we not only provide the testing systems used to develop new avionics, we are working on a global detection & alerting systems for GPS jamming and spoofing. On a daily basis we track flights that are spoofed and then have issues for the remainder of the flight. Crews need to know not only where the areas of interference are, but also have improved procedures to safeguard their systems. Better test and better monitoring are needed.
