I've put the museum at the top of my philanthropic priorities for two primary reasons - I believe our economic future depends on innovation and our scientific competitiveness in the global markets. Building technical literacy and instilling a passion in science and engineering in our children in K-12 is key to engaging them in a life of curiosity and creativity. Secondly, as a young child and frankly today, I don't believe we sufficiently celebrate or recognize the innovators among us. We do a pretty good job with sports figures (certainly in this town) and actors, but not engineers, doctors, and scientists.

  • Method and apparatus for controlling access to a product

    Issued US 6314408

A method for controlling access to a product includes receiving a request for a product, generating a license string for the product, and transmitting that license string to a user of the product. The license string is generated substantially at the time a request is received. A corresponding system is also described. In some embodiments the product functions for a trial period before requiring input of the license string. License strings may be generated that extend the trial period.
