“Dear Sir/Madame: I am writing this letter to strongly recommend Jaime Alfaro for a position with your agency. I have known Jaime since January 2010. We both worked together at NORCOM 911 (first as her peer, and lastly as her manager). Jaime was a consistent and valued member of our staff. She was always a willing listener, effective at identifying solutions and flexible enough to adapt when those proposed solutions didn’t meet the desired needs. When given an assignment or project she was constantly a highly motivated results-oriented leader. During a downturn in staffing, Jaime had a unique proposal to approach colleges to attract high level talent by advocating and promoting Public Safety Telecommunications as a potential career path. Her effort yielded several high caliber candidates that resulted in improved staffing and increased operational efficiency. Jaime on several occasions served on local committees and project teams where she represented her agency very professionally and was known as an effective collaborator. She was continuously working to gain greater cooperation and interoperability in the interest of first responder safety. I have met few individuals as passionate and hardworking as Jaime. I have always found her to be very agreeable and malleable in her approach to solutions, recognizing that her idea or input may not always be the best, but that “our team’s” solution is going to represent the best of all ideas. I know that she is well respected by many across the county as her common sense approach is refreshing when at times egos and “turf” drive agendas. I have on a few occasions had the opportunity to interact with Jaime personally and have found her to be a great person, very family oriented and a great mother to her kids.
