Day 30/365 Days I have been learning Ansible in detail through Abhishek Veeramalla's YouTube playlist, which takes the viewer from beginner setup to advanced playbook usage. It has been very useful in building a solid foundation for understanding Ansible's capabilities and how it makes automation much easier. How to resolve Terraform Drifts with ControlMonkey? Terraform Drifts occur whenever there is a discrepancy between your desired configuration (the Terraform Code) and your actual configuration (the cloud live resource). As part of our Terraform Drift Center, we offer two methods to resolve Drifts: 🟣 Remediate with ‘Align Code’: In cases where you are confident that the actual state is the right one, you can use this remediation action to align your Terraform code to what’s running in production. ControlMonkey creates a new PR (Pull request) in your Git repository and provides a 100% validated fix to your Terraform Code. This use case is very common when one of your engineers has to fix a production issue directly from the cloud console. Now, someone has to manually fix the Terraform code so it matches the live resource configuration. ControlMonkey automates the entire process. 🟣 Remediate with ‘Reconcile’: If you are confident that the Terraform code is the correct configuration, you can use this remediation action, which initiates a deployment process ending with ‘Terraform apply.’ In this short video I am demonstrating the ‘Align Code’ remediation action. #terraform #drift #iac #aws #devops #sre

When you create a Kubernetes cluster with say, a bootstrap method like Kubeadm, there are a few static Pods that get created. For example, the API server and Etcd. These static Pods receive IP addresses from the host network, not the internal Pod network with the CNI. In fact, the Control Plane itself when accessed typically hits the API server, which is another reason why it’s so drastically important to ensure that the host network is running as expected. When you run Kubeadm as your bootstrapper, you’re specifying the host network where the control plane is running. That’s how the API server is accessed. The Kubernetes maintainers recommend to setup the host network so that the default gateway IP is the one that Kubernetes components auto-detect and use from the host network. #kubernetes #devops #platformengineering
