In 2020, our North Carolina neighbors, Scott and Kim Van Almen, received heartbreaking news—their teenage son Vince was diagnosed with cancer. In 2020, our North Carolina neighbors, Scott and Kim Van Almen, received heartbreaking news—their teenage son Vince was diagnosed with cancer. After 860 days of relentless treatment, Vince triumphantly rang the bell on May 5th, 2023, marking the end of his cancer journey. Although the outcome was positive, their family faced daily trials and hardships. This experience inspired Scott and Kim to create the InVINCEable Foundation, dedicated to helping families navigate the same devastating challenge they endured.
The InVINCEable Foundation is committed to providing vital resources, financial relief, and hope to families coping with a child's cancer diagnosis. In 2024 alone, the foundation has already supported 17 families, offering over $74,000 in financial aid. Families receive between $5,000 to $6,000, divided into two meaningful categories: “The Present,” which covers ongoing expenses like mortgage or car payments, and “The Future,” where contributions are invested in the child's college savings account.
There are many ways to support the InVINCEable Foundation, from direct donations via their website (https://beinvinceable.org/donate) to sponsorships at our first-ever gala on February 28th. Every donation directly helps a family in need, and together, we can continue to provide hope and relief during their most challenging times.
