Impact Factor 56.3 on The Lancet! Our Iranian Start-up, Coenzyme-R's latest article under the title "Global, regional, and national incidence and mortality burden of non-COVID-19 lower respiratory infections and aetiologies, 1990–2021: a systematic analysis from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 " was published in the Lancet Infectious Diseases Journal with IF = 56.3 by our head scientific board, Reza Arefnezhad .

Service as a Remedy for Burnout: We discussed the rising issue of burnout in our profession, especially in the wake of the pandemic. Efosa shared a powerful perspective: engaging in acts of service can help alleviate feelings of burnout. By focusing on the needs of others, we can find renewed purpose and connection in our work. It’s a reminder that service doesn’t just benefit those we help; it enriches our lives and careers. Movement and Health Go Hand in Hand: We must weave movement elements into our service initiatives as we celebrate Physical Therapy Awareness Month. Whether conducting fall prevention screenings for older adults or teaching injury prevention techniques to local sports teams, we can promote movement health while building community relationships. This dual focus raises awareness about our profession and establishes us as trusted resources for health and wellness. This is a Really Informative Post! But you cannot Stop Myopia Controlling Myopia, Prevention and Accessible Solutions are Key - The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t just reshape how children learn and see the world. it transformed the shape of their eyeballs. With real-life classrooms and playgrounds giving way to virtual meetings and digital devices, the time children spent focusing on screens surged while outdoor time dropped significantly. This shift led to a notable change in children their eyeballs lengthened to better accommodate short-vision tasks. This elongation improves the clarity of close-up images on the retina but makes far-away objects appear blurry, leading to myopia, or short-sightedness. Rates of myopia were booming well before the COVID-19 pandemic. Projections suggested that myopia would affect half of the world’s population by 2050. But Now, I Believe those predictions seem modest. the incidence may triple rather than double. The Rising Trend in Myopia Prevalence: According to Carla Lança an Expert in Myopia Research, Approximately 30% of the world's population had myopia in 2020 and WHO stated that The prevalence is expected to rise to 50% by 2050. Each additional 1 Diopter of myopia increases the risk of complications such as myopic maculopathy (58%), retinal detachment (30%), posterior subcapsular cataract (21%), and open-angle glaucoma (20%). Risk factors include decreased time spent outdoors, number of years of education, increased time spent on near work, and parental myopia. Outdoor lifestyle and educational pressure at young ages are significant factors for high prevalence and incidence of myopia. According to her Expert Opinion, Outdoor programs remain an essential strategy to reduce myopia incidence. Schools should focus on increasing the time children spend outdoors, especially during recess and through outdoor learning activities. prevention efforts should be emphasized over treatment. Controlling Myopia: While Lasik Surgery is not an option for young children, other methods to control myopia include atropine, ortho-K, new generation anti-myopia spectacles and contact lenses, and more recently, red light therapy. These methods help to control myopia progression but do not eliminate myopia. Apart from This the Fastest and Best Solution is Making Specs Accessible and Affordable- In line with International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Specs 2030 Initiative, we should ensure that spectacles are accessible and affordable to everyone, especially in developing countries, where 90% of Worlds untreated refractive disorders exist.
