The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) has released a joint report with the Boston Consulting Group forecasting a significant increase in the U.S.A.’s chip manufacturing capacity, which is impressively expected to see a 203% increase—triple its current capacity—by 2032. This growth can be credited to growing industry investments thanks to the $50 billion CHIPS Act, which was signed into law by President Biden two years ago. As a result, by 2032, the U.S. is expected to see a rise in its share of global semiconductor production from 10% to 14%.
