The shift to electrified transportation is well underway and #Utilities are working to ensure the grid can handle the increased energy demand needed to charge electric vehicles (EVs). To effectively manage #EV adoption and the growing demand for charging, utilities need to embrace proactive, analytics-driven approaches, like Itron, Inc.'s distributed intelligence (DI) solution. DI provides real-time insight into EV charging patterns and control out to the grid edge, which is crucial to preventing grid overloads. Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) introduced a voluntary “Consumer Bill of Rights” framework for States to incorporate into their upcoming Home Energy Rebate programs. The framework outlines 12 key rights for consumers, with the goal of empowering homeowners with clear, transparent information as they navigate energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades for their homes.
