MeanCache is a user-centric semantic cache for LLM-based web services (e.g., ChatGPT). It uses Federated Learning to fine-tune smaller embedding models, enhancing query semantic matching and handling context queries effectively. Here’s a snapshot of the day: • Took time to reflect on why I’m here and where I want to be in five years. It’s been a valuable exercise in aligning my goals. 🌟 • Each week will bring new tasks and deadlines. Staying organized and connected with others will be key. 📅✨ • Had discussions on the latest AI trends that sparked new ideas. 🤖🧠 • The main takeaway? Show up, give it your best, and stay dedicated. Week 2 at Headstarter Fellowship: Pushing boundaries and gaining insights Just wrapped up another intense week in the fellowship. Here's what I've been up to: 1. Project Update: Built a Pantry Tracker app using Next.js, Firebase, and AI. Coming from a Python AI/ML background, working with JavaScript and its AI integrations was a new challenge. Interestingly, AI tools significantly accelerated my learning process - a testament to how impactful AI could be in teaching space. 2. Pathways to Tech Event: Some key takeaways:   - Dennis Crowley (Founder of Foursquare) emphasized the importance of being scrappy and responsive in this AI-driven world   - "Start fast, start ugly" - perfection can come later   - Focus on building, not just specific technologies   - Simplicity often wins - concentrate on what truly matters Julian Alvarez 🚀 (CEO of Wisdolia) stood out with his advice to "think like a scientist" and constantly validate assumptions. His perspective on potential, framed around four key questions (who you want to become, what you want to create/achieve/give), was particularly insightful. 🚀 Day 2 of the Headstarter AI Software Engineering Fellowship was thought-provoking with Faizan Ahmed and Jack O'Brien! Here are some of my favorite insights: 🔹 "Distribution eats product for breakfast" – Emphasize growth product features and leverage short-form content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram to capture attention. 🔹 Building relationships with startups: Platforms like Y Combinator can help find promising startups that may resonate with our education, interests or experience. Focus on building rapport, testing their products, and offering constructive feedback. 📌 Tips to build a project from scratch: Waitlists are great: Create a landing page, test engagement with a basic MVP, or provide free credits to gather emails from interested users. Blogging and meetings: Write valuable blog posts and network in real life. 💡 Jack O’Brien’s tips: Side projects: Critical for career growth. His personal examples, like a presentation platform for startups and an environmental calculator, were inspiring and motivating. Don’t obsess over the “idea”; just choose a decent one and start practicing. Getting first users: Work on projects that excite you, involve friends, and share on as many platforms as possible. Using AI to code: Embrace tools like Cursor AI and ChatGPT, but ensure you understand what your code is doing. The overall takeaway was to get in the reps! 🚀 Week 2 Update at Headstarter: Building & Learning! This week, I took on the challenge of creating a Pantry Tracker project, a tool to register and filter pantry items. Through this project, I gained hands-on experience with an exciting tech stack: Next.js, React, Firebase, GCP, Vercel, OpenAI, CI/CD, HTML and CSS 👥 Incredible Meetings: I had the privilege of learning from some industry leaders: 1) Dennis Crowley - Founder of Foursquare ($150M Revenue) 2) Tariq Ahmed - First Engineer at Applovin ($30Bn IPO) 3) Julian Alvarez 🚀 - Ex-Meta, CEO of Wisdolia ($20K+ MRR) 4) Hamza Ali- CEO of Olostep 🎯 Key Takeaways: 1) As a software engineer, it’s crucial to take ownership, even if you're not an expert—confidence and commitment are key. 2) Emotional connection with the product and perseverance are vital. Quitting isn’t an option; keep pushing forward. (Thanks, Dennis!). 3) Don’t get too attached to an idea—90% of them don’t work. Be optimistic about yourself, not just the idea. “Start early, start ugly” and always keep learning. (Wise words from Julian!). 4) At Olostep, it's essential to be a self-starter who can complete tasks independently with a great attitude. This mindset aligns with my own approach to work. Additionally, I completed a mock interview on “Simplifying Email Addresses” with Aidan Ouckama, sharpening my skills even further.
