A classifier computes a sentence sentiment score for each sentence based on the digital matrix for the sentence. Sentence sentiment scores computed by the classifier can be adjusted based on a fuzzy matching of a phrase(s) in the sentence to key phrases in a lexicon that are labeled with a sentiment relevant to the context.

  • Probabilistic Hunting

    Identifying target in an unknown terrain with possibility of false negatives using Bayesian Networks. Developed algorithms to find a target and analyzed the behavior of algorithms based on the type of the terrain, the target is present in.

  • Minesweeper Bot

    Designed a minesweeper bot that makes moves based on solving a constraint satisfaction problem for a given board state. Our bot makes the optimal move at each step by choosing the cell with minimum probability.

  • Coloring a gray scale image

    Designed the problem of coloring a gray-scale image as a classification problem with grayscale values of 3x3 window mapped to its rgb value using k-means clustering. Designed a neural network with three hidden layers to predict the color class of a particular pixel. Reconstructed the colored image by combining the pixel values.

  • Music Genre Prediction based on lyrics

    Build a system that can predict the genre of a song based on its lyrics. Designed two models using multilayer perceptron and convolutional neural network and compared their performance. Used word2vec and pre-trained glove embeddings as feature vectors. Achieved an accuracy of 69% using CNN.

  • Twitter News Detection and its classification

    Curated a set of tweets with news/not-news labels and news categories. Identified a set of features and trained a Naive Bayes classifier using it. Achieved an accuracy of 97%. Further it would be used to identify fake news.

  • Maze Solver

    Designed an intelligent system to solve a randomly generated maze. Implemented DFS, BFS and A-Star algorithm. Analyzed the efficiency of each of the algorithms based on the path taken to reach the goal from the source. Then, we implemented genetic algorithm and simulated annealing algorithms to create mazes which are difficult to solve by the previously implemented algorithms.

  • Automatic Water Level Controller

    Developed an embedded control system to implement automatic water level controller using ATMEGA 324 microcontroller. Designed the transmitter and receiver using Wireless Sensor Kits built around XBEE RF module.

  • Designing a transceiver circuit for wireless communication in underground mines

    -

    Worked on simulation and designing of a transceiver circuit for wireless communication in underground mines. Addressed the problem of reliable wireless communication in mines due to the attenuation in the various layers of earth. Experimented the device under different conditions and the results demonstrated significant development from earlier known methods.
