Projects

  • Perception : Map Buliding

    This project focuses on Perception and Map building, which are crucial part of autonomous robots. Entire project is implemented in a Gazebo, a simulated environment in Robot Operating System (ROS), using Clearpath Jackal Robots.

    Using a front-scan laser mounted on Jackal bot, map is visualize as a part of perception and sensing of the robot environment.

  • Lane-line Detection

    Here I used Canny-Edge Detection algorithm and Gaussian Filter on runtime video feed from the car on road. I extracted the road lane lines and using Canny-Edge algorithm, was able to detected which are the correct lanes for vehicle to be driven on. Implemented entire project on python running on Anaconda platform and Jupyter notebook server.

  • Low Cost Automation

    I did my Summer Internship at InspirOn Engineering Pvt Ltd., Ahmedabad.
    Here I was appointed under PES department which handled in-house facilities where I had to work on manually operated machines, to convert them to Automated one.

    Here I worked on 3 different sub-projects focusing on different areas of Automation. They are:

    i) Study and Research the Pneumatic circuits of the Low Pressure Die Casting (LPDC) machine and implement it for the Gravity Die Casting Dozing furnace…

    ii) To research on the safety measures for heavy machines and implement it on Hydraulic Press brake machine.

    iii) To implement Embedded systems application for the modelling and fabrication of the Temperature Monitoring and Alert System.

    This project is named as 'Jackal Hunt Rabbits', is based on Easter Egg theme, is an autonomous vehicle mapping and navigation implemented on Clearpath Jackal Robot.

    Here the task is to hunt the Rabbits sitting on a basket with unique ALVAR Tags, which has pose details, and based upon the object detection and computer vision technique to count the number of colored Easter Eggs in the basket, based upon the map generated by the navigation of the project.

  • Control of Configurable Hybrid Electric Learning Modules

    -

    The project is about to develop a control system on learning modules of a Configurable Hybrid Electric Vehicle (CHEV). The main motive is to develop 6 different control sub-systems and 1 actuator sub-system along with the improvements for HEV.

    MotoTron software is being used along with engine ECU to generate actual vehicle signals which are later on fed to the developed control sub-system.

  • Autonomous Mapper

    -

    Clearpath Jackal robot was used to implement autonomous navigation and mapping routine over a Robot Operating System (ROS) platform.

    Here using scan data from SICK LMS 291 Lidar, navigation without bumping into the walls was achieved; also the scan data from '/tf' topic was recorded to realize the map of entire path using GMapping tool of ROS.

    This project creates and trains a deep convolutional neural network from scratch, with the task of classifying German traffic signs using the German Traffic Sign Dataset. The trained model is subsequently tested on German traffic signs found on the web, as well as US traffic signs.
