You’re a product marketing professional. How can you develop your analytical skills?
One that I think is missing: Start With the End in Mind. The origin story of an analytics project should be the fundamental questions you need answers to that presumably lie in the data. I mean that literally: It should start with a list of questions you intend to answer. That frames the inquiry so that you don't end up with amazing visualizations, metrics, and tools, but no useful takeaways or insights. It also helps in uncovering gaps in your data or process. Finally, it's a huge aid in presenting the findings: It will ground the story that the data is telling into useful themes that tie back to the reasons you undertook the project in the first place.
