“Danny is truly a standout product leader. When I brought him over from our product marketing team to take charge of the Employee Community product - formerly Honey, the company I co-founded—I knew it was a role that was unlike any other Product Manager role at BambooHR. Danny has exceeded every expectation I had. His strategic vision has taken the Employee Community product to new heights, aligning it with our long-term goals and driving higher adoption than I ever imagined. Danny has a knack for using customer insights to get everyone on the same page, especially at the executive level. Danny is all about the customer. He's conducted over 100 customer interviews to make sure our product strategy is spot-on. His ability to turn feedback into action has made him the go-to guy for customer insights, building trust and driving impactful features. Under Danny's leadership, the Employee Community product has gone from beta to a full launch, with tons of updates that keep making it better. Even with a lean team, his proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making ensures we're making a real impact for our customers and the business. Danny is a pro at cross-functional collaboration, bringing together teams from marketing, sales, engineering, and more. His clear communication and strategic thinking keep everyone aligned and moving efficiently. His background in product marketing really shines through in how he keeps stakeholders engaged and informed. Danny owns his product areas with confidence, showing strong leadership and accountability. He's decisive and proactive, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategy to keep the team on track. Danny is a huge asset to any organization, and I'm excited to see the continued success and innovation he'll bring.”

Day two of the ATD Org Dev Conference can be summed up in one word: Inspiring. Key Insights: 🚗 Change is happening at speeds we’ve never seen before. Our brains are wired to be concerned. It is our job to be there for our employees, communicate, and mitigate. 💕 Leadership requires both deep compassion and emotional regulation. 🔝 Organizations cannot reach their greatest potential unless their people do. 💬 Research is essential to uncovering unknowns. Invite people into the experience, ask them what they want. 👛 Trust is shaped through experiences. It is a currency you can give and exchange. 🤔 You must be curious to build connection with others. Stay tuned for more from Day 3 tomorrow! #ATDOrgDev

This is HANDS DOWN the best reason for reflecting on your work. "It gives us a great opportunity to celebrate the things that we're doing well so that we can reinforce them because sometimes we do things well accidentally." I spoke to Liggy Webb for L&D Disrupt and I LOVED this insight. Most of us want to do more of our best work. And spend less time on things that have little impact. Stopping to reflect and then refreshing what we do based on that is how we do it. "We might not always be aware of the impact that it has and it's a good habit to get into because it does slow us down so that we can work in a way that delivers more quality rather than quantity.” Slow down. Take stock. Deliver more quality. #Reflection #SelfReflection #Review #SelfReview

I've been searching for a new marketing director role for the past month or so since a layoff at my last company. Four things I've learned so far: 1) In todays environment, marketing roles at the management and director level are highly competitive. More so than I ever remember. There is a high amount of good candidates for roles that I am well qualified for. 2) I have to be comfortable with rejection in situations when I know and do the things to stand out among other candidates. What worked two years ago doesn't necessarily work as well today. Also, the rejection is not personal. 3) I would love to see some kind of feedback system in place that would help candidates, including myself, as to why we weren't chosen for a specific job. It could be as simple as "we are looking for more experience in this specific area" or "we already have a relationship with the person we decided to hire" or "we don't believe our mission and goals align with yours". 4) Keeping your head up in times when your professional future is uncertain and unclear. 5) Not every company is going to respond. In fact, looking at the data from my personal experience it seems about 85% of the roles applied to, don't receive a response. Of that 15% that do respond, about 12% are generic responses of "we have decided to move forward with other candidates". It's rough out there. Change it up to stick out.

As the year winds down, now’s the perfect time to reflect on what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what you’ll need to succeed in the new year. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing how even small improvements can make a huge difference in your day-to-day work. This year, we launched a bunch of new tools and features inspired directly by our users' feedback. All to make sure you'll get everything you need to improve your workflows. That’s why our Black Friday deal is more than just a savings offer—it’s a way to equip yourself with the tools you need to tackle 2025 with confidence. For our current users, we customized offers according to the specifics of their accounts. For new users, we offer an additional 20% discount on all annual plans and add-ons on top of the existing 20% annual discount. As you plan for next year, make sure to consider a tool that cares about what you need and listens to your request. Link in the comments!

Do you know a "repeater"? Mariah: "I believe we need to increase our paid ad spend to drive more leads" Jared: "That's a great idea. What other ideas do folks have?" **2 minutes later** John: "Based on what I see in the lead data, I predict increasing our ad spend would yield the best ROI." 🤦🏾♂️ Don't be the dreaded "repeater". The person with "original ideas" that have already been stated. There are many ways to contribute. Repeating someone else's point is not it. Struggle to know how? - Ask genuine questions to clarify points - Share your unique perspective based on your experience/POV - Find an advocate to "tee you up". P.S. Want some detailed talking points to help? I take a deep dive in Thursday morning's newsletter (link below profile picture)

Corny LinkedIn post alert: 🚨 In the spirit of thankfulness, I’m pausing this week to reflect on how tough parts of this year were—and where I ended up. Let’s be real: the unknown is terrifying. But somehow, the opportunities that came pouring out of my network on this platform blew me away. Truly, LinkedIn—you understood the assignment. 👏 I’ve got to give a major shoutout to the people I’ve connected with here—not the spammy, “Hi, Caitlin, can I have 15 minutes of your time?” types, but the real connections. The ones who cheer each other on, swap advice, and genuinely celebrate each other's wins. And the best part? Meeting so many of you IRL at events felt less like a first introduction and more like reuniting with an old friend. It’s proof that this whole “relationship-building” thing actually works—if you do it right. Show up authentically, invest in people (not just profiles), and focus on building real value, not quick-hit transactions. As we slide into the holiday season, I’m carrying a huge bucket of gratitude for this community. If we’ve talked, collaborated, or even exchanged a funny GIF in DMs this year—thank you. You’ve been a bright spot. Here’s to more connections, more opportunities, and maybe a little less chaos in the year ahead. 🦃

🥁 Drumroll, please... kicking off my first LinkedIn video 🫣 After spending way too long thinking about making a video, I finally hit record – and here we are. Thankfully, it was less awkward than I expected (but ask me again in an hour…). Here are a couple of things I learned in the process: ✨ I am... a one-take wonder? The more I planned and re-shot, the more robotic I felt. I started honing in on little imperfections, and in doing so, overcompensated with my delivery. So, I went back to my first take, did some light editing, and decided it was good enough. 📹 Lowering the bar works. By keeping my expectations low, I took the pressure off – and now my first video has reached you & your feed. I’ll aim to get good over the next few posts. ⏳ It was quick (ish): It took me less than an hour start to finish to film, edit (including downloading CapCut), write up my post, and hit 'post'. Would love your input: What would you like to see in future videos? LMK your ideas in the comments – I’m excited to experiment and find my groove.

(Skip the deep Carrie thoughts below and order some fun sample employee recognition pins in the attached link) I've spent so much time in my career discussing and brainstorming thoughtful approaches to employee recognition. I want to create an experience that all employees can enjoy and appreciate, which can be a challenge. What's a fun, modern, streamlined way to recognize important moments in an employee's journey (in a non cheesy way of course because for those who know me, you know I can definitely bring the cheese)? Luckily for me, I work for a pretty incredible company that has helped me create a cute little pin recognition experience that I'm really proud to share. I feel like it represents Brilliant so well and allows us to commemorate anniversaries and other important company moments and milestones in a pin. We've even created a fun pin page(https://lnkd.in/gjirmxGi) to showcase the program. If you'd like to see some examples in real life, I set aside a few samples for you to order and check out. Just throw your info (work email address, mailing address) in (https://lnkd.in/gzmvvB9g) and pins will be on their way!

Leaders need to realize that burning the candle at both ends will eventually wear you out. You need to create some "white space" in your day so you can pause and breathe. If you don't create what's called "margins" in your schedule nobody else will. Don't let every minute be booked on your schedule. Just because you are busy doesn't mean you are accomplishing things. Here's why margins are important: 1) margins improve self-awareness 2) margins give you time to think 3) Margins provide you with renewed energy.... #leadership #self-awareness #family

At Sprout Social, Inc., we practice what we preach. And that includes using our own tools to amplify our strategies. A recent case study explored how Sprout’s social team and customer care teams used Sprout’s Inbox Activity Report to find opportunities to improve our own support strategy. I thought these results were pretty amazing: ✅ 55% decrease in average response time ✅ 36,000 messages handled in the Smart Inbox This is such a great example of how Sprout can help you use social media as the missing link between business goals and brand—or in this case, customer care—performance. Check out the case study for yourself: https://bit.ly/4b63vxk

Back-to-school looks different for all parents. For me, gone are the days of my kids integrating into their elementary / high school communities. Now, back-to-school is sending my youngest off in his car to 3rd year Uni hoping he drives carefully, arrives safely, and gets home safely. All parents are experiencing this back-to-school time differently. If a parent is on your team, have grace as they get through what can be a first time in full day elementary school, to first day in high school, to organizing the crazy drop off / pick up schedules that never seem to align with working hours. #workingparents #backtoschool

Clair Brings Earned Wage Access To Gusto Clients Earned wage access fintech Clair has partnered with payroll, benefits, and HR management solutions company Gusto. Under the agreement, employees at many of Gusto’s 300,000 supported businesses will be offered access to On-Demand Pay via Gusto Wallet. Gusto is Clair’s first partner to announce participation in the new embedded EWA product. Embedded earned wage access provider Clair and payroll, benefits, and HR management solutions company Gusto are teaming up this week. The partnership will allow Gusto to offer earned wage access (EWA) to their small business clients. Founded in 2019, Clair offers an embeddable EWA tool. Clair’s clients, which include Trinet, 7Shifts, syncHR, use the EWA tool to help their combined 12,000 business customers offer their employees earlier access to their paychecks with no interest. Once employees set up a Clair spending account, they can receive a paycheck advance at any time for hours they’ve already worked. Clair offers end users banking services powered by Pathward, N.A., including a virtual and physical Mastercard debit card, access to fee-free ATMs, and does not charge monthly service fees or require a minimum balance. “Emergency expenses often arise and employees need a secure and convenient way to cover those unexpected costs,” said General Manager and Head of Product at Gusto’s Members business unit Dan Loomis. “Due to these needs, we decided to add an on-demand pay offering to Gusto Wallet and knew it would be crucial to find the right partner to bring it to life in a seamless, compliant way. We evaluated all the major players in the EWA space and Clair stood out as our ideal partner, bringing both the compliance framework and technical capabilities we need to offer wage advances right inside our existing app. We’re proud of this industry-leading collaboration that expands the possibilities of embedded financial wellness benefits.” Under today’s partnership, employees at many of Gusto’s 300,000 supported businesses will be offered access to sign up for On-Demand Pay via Gusto Wallet. The company anticipates the move will help employees increase prosperity by delivering not only earlier access to their pay, but also to financial and work productivity tools. Gusto is Clair’s first partner to announce participation in the new embedded EWA product. Gusto was founded in 2011. Originally known as ZenPayroll, Gusto provides a cloud-based payroll, benefits, and HR management solution. The company’s tools help businesses with things like time and attendance, hiring and onboarding, talent management, and more. Company co-founder Joshua Reeves is CEO. Imagine a world where layoffs … suck less. → 📣 What’s the best example you’ve seen of how to support people who’ve been laid off? 📣 We know that org restructures can be enormously painful, both for those directly impacted and those still employed. So many people have been impacted by downsizing over the last few years, and we’ve heard from those in our outplacement & career coaching program how difficult the subsequent weeks and months can be. (You’re not alone!) As we work to channel new practices into our engagement with employers, we’d love those examples – big or small – that showcase how to build a little more *humanity* into an overwhelmingly difficult process. Throw in a comment below, won’t you – your thoughts might help someone else impacted by a layoff down the road! 👇 #layoffs #layoff #restructure #downsizing #outplacement #careercoaching

You've allocated thousands to learning and development. Your employees are eager to grow. Yet somehow, most of your budget sits unused. This isn't about money - it's about access. When accessing professional development feels like filing taxes, you've created an invisible barrier between talent and growth. The real cost isn't in the unused budget - it's in the untapped potential of your people. Top performers deliver 800% more value. But they need fuel to reach that level. When was the last time you examined how accessible your development resources really are?

Earlier this week, I brought my fully remote, distributed team together in Napa for a two-day offsite, where I intentionally stepped away from the typical planning and strategy sessions. Instead, I created space for us to simply connect.🙌 The days were mostly unstructured—a welcome break from the daily grind. We shared great meals, stories, and laughter—lots of it.🤣 Here’s what I walked away with: ✅ Immense gratitude for each person I work with. ✅ Confidence that those two days were time well spent. I truly believe that the supportive, psychologically safe environment we’ve built as a team is a direct result of the time we’ve dedicated to getting to know each other, understanding one another better, and prioritizing playfulness and fun. Too often, leaders underestimate the value of this type of connection, dismissing it as "fluff" or making minimal efforts, treating it as an afterthought. But for me, it’s the foundation of a thriving, cohesive team.❤️ Each smiling face in this photo is a big part of why my career is such a fulfilling and positive force in my life.🙏 #leadership #innovation #mentalhealth #peoplefirst #remote #remotework #wfh #humanresources

We all want to see results fast (guilty ✋), but a successful employee advocacy strategy takes time! After you launch your strategy with a kickoff call and train your team, you need to maintain the program, keep up the momentum, and give your advocates valuable content to share. 💡 Tip – making it fun helps! But when you look back, you'll see the hard work paid off and the results are worth it because advocates who share write fun and engaging posts and get so much more engagement from their networks.🙌 #EmployeeAdvocacy #SocialMediaMarketing
