INSLEC LEADERSHIP PROJECT UNDER MY WATCH It has been a while since I accepted the role as President and Chairman of Council at the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Corporate Governance (INSLEC), Nigeria. My leadership’s flagship project will be to institute, recognize, and celebrate outstanding leaders and organizations in the various human endeavors in Nigeria. By so doing we would be celebrating an uncommon commitment to excellence and highlighting their positive impact on human society and national development. Amid the despondency of the political society about the rudderlessness of the leadership architecture of our nation, we see some rays of hope dotting aspects of the society that should be highlighted and not diminished. There are business and corporate executives who have managed their businesses well and contributed to our nation's economic growth. Some philanthropists have made life worth living for numerous indigent citizens. Some young men and women have carved a niche for themselves as worthy leaders for the new generation and serve as beacons of hope for the nation. By celebrating these, we raise the hope that amid the gloom, we can see the ray of hope for a new Nigeria that is poised to take its rightful place in the comity of nations. We seek not to replicate the rot in some existing leadership projects that recognize those who can pay for the award, but launch into what will receive the applause of all men and women of honor and integrity. We shall be pushing the agenda that it is not all about Nigeria that is, or should be in the negative frame. By so doing, we shall be making a BOLD statement that Nigeria MUST rise AGAIN. May God help us. 𝕄𝕪 ℙ𝕒𝕤𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟 ℙ𝕣𝕠𝕛𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕤 As my birthday approaches, I want to share some of the passion projects that ignite my enthusiasm and creativity. These pursuits bring joy and fulfillment to my life, and they remind me of the importance of following my heart. One of my favorite projects has been co-hosting the JPI Ogun State Chapter Conference, themed "ℑ𝔫𝔰𝔭𝔦𝔯𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔓𝔬𝔰𝔰𝔦𝔟𝔦𝔩𝔦𝔱𝔦𝔢𝔰”. This experience allows me to express my creativity and connect with like-minded individuals. It has opened up numerous opportunities for me, providing the chance to learn and grow through mistakes. We often don't realize our potential until we have the right platform. I've long wanted to host and organize physical events but lacked the courage to start. I am passionate about transforming young minds and igniting their creativity. Hosting my first physical event is a significant milestone for me, and I'm grateful to Dr. Jamie Pajoel for this opportunity. I find immense satisfaction in the process and the impact it has on my life. Another passion of mine is teaching youths about agriculture. We’re organizing a monthly program to educate youths about innovations in agriculture, and in a few weeks, we’ll launch a weekly webinar focused on essential agricultural knowledge. This project has taught me valuable skills and pushed me to step outside my comfort zone. The challenges I’ve encountered have only deepened my passion for it, and I’m continually inspired by the community supporting this initiative. This project is especially important to me because I want to engage vibrant youths in agriculture, addressing the growing food demand as the population increases. Throughout the program, participants will learn about the business side of agriculture and how to generate profit while positioning themselves for grants. The project is still in development, and we’re excited to add the finishing touches to make it truly enriching. These projects are essential to my well-being. They offer an escape from daily routines and provide a sense of purpose. I encourage everyone to explore their passions whether they’re artistic, entrepreneurial, or simply for fun. Okonkwo owned a thriving construction company in a rapidly growing city. Over the years, he had built a team of highly skilled and dedicated employees who were integral to the company's success. However, Okonkwo recognized that retaining his top performers was becoming increasingly challenging, as competitors were offering lucrative compensation packages to lure them away. To address this issue, Okonkwo consulted with a financial professional, who suggested implementing an executive bonus plan in combination with Indexed Universal Life (IUL) insurance policies. May you always have problems. The prayer should be that you will always have big problems. Last month, the Utiva team underwent one of the toughest due diligence. It was so rough that everyone(my friends, investors, partners etc) knew we were going through a phase. 3 social impact investors were scrutinizing everything we had done for the past 4 years. Guess what! They all sent us the bad news at the end of the journey. I thought I was used to this- and since we raised a million in funds, I thought I was prepared. But no, it was negative. But this phase exploded some very crazy things about us. At the end of the phase, I knew I had to rework a few things. If we had gotten the funds, we would have just used the money to shock some of these internal problems, building a dead-on-arrival internal system. This is not how to build a company! You don't use money to solve a problem that common sense can solve. I have spent just 1-week solving problems that would have cost us millions in the future, invested nights restructuring and running deep audits on our models, and growth plans and adjusting some dead models. I have also come to acknowledge that problems are the little breaks that God uses to slow us down from running into major problems. May you have enough of them!

On the 6-month anniversary of my #book, Winging It: Improv's Power and Peril in the Time of Trump: Eshu the Yoruba Trickster god from West Africa joins me in celebrating the half-year anniversary of Winging It, my book in which s/he has such a role. (You’ll notice like most Tricksters s/he is gender-fluid, here two separate statues, one male, one female).   The cake is red velvet, a cake in urban legend which has a #Trickster twist. The story goes that a woman dining at Neiman Marcus in Dallas so loved her red velvet cake dessert that she asked the chef for the recipe. (In another version it takes place at New York’s Waldorf Astoria). The chef apparently had some Trickster (or con man) in him. With the recipe he delivered a $300 charge. The deal was done so the woman went Trickster herself and shared it widely.   Six rich months of book events, podcasts, and conferences that have brought me from New Orleans to LA, San Francisco, Albuquerque, New York, D.C., and even the South of France. The best part is meeting readers and my fellow "Yes, And..." people throughout the past few months. What I’ve learned along the way is a new way to summarize the book. It runs like this:   Looking at #improv through my wide-angle lens across human discourses offers fresh insights into the mysteries of #creativity and cultural #innovation. That alone is a big payoff. The book is largely a celebration of improv’s long role in cultural change.   But it also makes the case that the chaos Trump brings is just the dark, flip side of the same coin. From jazz to comic improv to Trump, they are all of a piece, all disruptors, all driven by the persuasive rhetoric of spontaneity: I’ve given is no thought, so trust me. We must learn to distinguish them, to know when spontaneity is used to inspire community, and when it inspires mere cult behaviors and chaos.   What always bothered me about the project was that it seemed so ivory tower, just part of the world of ideas and art that fascinated me. But when I saw Trump come down that golden escalator and give that rant about American carnage, I quickly saw that the ivory tower had been broached by political realities. I set about to write a general audience book to convey the dark side of this otherwise delightful trope, my gut knows more than many brains.   I stumbled on this lens in 1975 and have been exploring and refining it ever since. I am continually humbled and excited by its explanatory reach and power. I hope my listeners and readers will take a look through this lens and see how widely it clarifies the world around us. *FOMC(United States) ⏭ ⏭ ⏭ MPC(Nigeria)* Having successfully concluded Wednesday's FOMC meeting, I will borrow the words by Mounir Bouba on my last post 🙂 - Alea iacta est (i.e., The die is cast). We now return home to Nigeria in line with the aphorism "Home is where the heart is" and no, you are not about to see an Elvis Presley performance 😂. Enough said, let's cut to the chase. To refine my thoughts around the next MPC meeting coming up in the following week, I decided to engage a very brilliant analyst at my firm Ayomikun Awolo on a quick call after work, I asked him a few questions and we tried to set some things straight. Walk with me 😉. We approached the entire thing just from 3 angles: What he thinks the MPC should do? HIKE the MPR by 25bps, it's too early to call UHURU thanks to the new PMS prices 🙄, we thought we were done with inflationary pressures but we have to wait a little longer before we see some calm. I mean, he did say some other things around our FX problems too as a justification. What he thinks they will do? He believes they will HOLD, maybe because it looks like we already activated the "disinflation zone". I made that phrase up anyways 😂 What we all know they won't do? I think we both agreed it will be presumptuous of the MPC to start with CUTS now even if it's as infinitesimal as a 5bps cut, there's clearly no point🙄, so save that for the future. I did tease him with some other questions like whether he thinks the entire monetary hiking cycle has even worked at all - I mean I have a case there because inflation is not always a monetary phenomenon🤔 and I am no monetarist 😂. Well, to that particular question he smirked😂. Ayomikun Awolo, please feel free to add anything I missed. Gracias 😎 Personally, I expect the CBN governor to be asked some questions around the plans of the committee to ensure the "unification of the exchange rates" is sustainable as we have continuously seen a wider spread between the NAFEM and parallel rates over the last few weeks. The person can even go like "this was not what you promised us o" unless unification has another meaning in Nigeria. 😂 I will stop here today, who knows who I might be talking to next? Might just be the CBN Governor himself😏 - that's a little too ambitious, I agree😂 . Till I come your way again, this won't be my last. Hasta la vista people✌. I could not use the same word Arnold Schwarzenegger used so I had to use "people" since we are talking Central Bank matters here😂

I don’t believe in “African time” or making empty promises, nor do I take things lightly. I approach everything with the utmost seriousness. I work hard, and I play hard—always to the best of my ability. When I believe in a cause, I go all out. You’ll never be left wondering where I stand, especially when my support comes from a place of genuine care. Some might think I’ll lose steam eventually. They should get to know me better. I don’t run out of energy. God has blessed me with boundless strength, and I intend to use this platform He has given me to the absolute MAXIMUM. Nigerian bankers, and soon all Nigerian workers, can rest assured that I am here to stay. I only ask for your prayers and support. Today’s Agenda: Today, we will be calling out three Nigerian banks in three rounds. The bank most frequently mentioned in the comments will be highlighted this morning before noon. In today’s world, social media empowers us with freedom of speech, and we are only seeking improved welfare, not conflict. Bankers should be able to speak openly about their working conditions like: 1. Date of last promotion 2. Date of last salary increase 3. Duration as a contract staff 4. Access to benefits (HMO, pension, etc.) 5. Number of grades/hurdles in my career 6. Name of outsourcing company I work for These topics are not protected under the bank’s confidentiality agreements and oath of secrecy, so everyone should feel free to share but privately.
