Great points about selling into small business. I think it's universal of any kind of sale, not just selling software. Small business owners don't have people to qualify or determine which vendor will give them value, so you have to over-demonstrate value—and quickly—to close that deal. Enterprises have more room to breath and people dedicated to purchasing and analyzing solutions—they'll take their time deliberating and perhaps have more red tape, but ultimately greater purchasing power. Re-thinking sales processes has to be done for each. Love the points about 100% market share for full verticalization. I have a few clients that need to think about this...

I really enjoyed listening to this interview. Mojo's design takes into account many competing interests, and this conversation dives deeply into how the language was conceived and how it has evolved. For example, Python has become the standard language for AI and data science, but part of its success comes from a huge amount of supporting code written in C++. This two-language problem results in inefficiencies and barriers to progress. By building a language that shares the same syntax as Python but includes features that allow for direct high-performance computing, you can shorten the time between exploring an idea and bringing it into production. This is just one of the ideas covered in the interview, alongside comparisons to other languages like Rust and Zig, the relative benefits of static vs dynamic typing (and how you can get the positives of both through careful language design), the complexities and tradeoffs of memory management approaches, and why it's time to start migrating towards a language built in 2024 that finally moves us past the design needs of the 1980s.

The engineering team at SaaSGrid pumps out features faster than I can write about them, but I wanted to highlight one thing we released recently that has made a big impact for our customers. SaaS leaders are used to looking at monthly ARR, but that can leave them in the dark to the day-in-day-out changes in their customer base. Are new customers getting signed? Are renewals happening (and happening on time?) Is there organic expansion or contraction? Our new ARR Movements timeline gives day level granularity for every change in ARR, down to the specific products and quantities that were updated. Keeping track of data in real time lets our users move from reactive proactive, and never get surprised at the end of the month. NEW: Internal Threads Internal threads allow you to spin up conversations in Slack from Pylon. It's great when you want to start a conversation with someone, but they primarily use Slack (e.g. engineers, product people or anyone who isn't living out of the support system). Common internal threads we are creating at Pylon: 1/ #bugs to report a potential bug 2/ #project channels to ask a team a question about a specific feature 3/ #feedback to report product feedback to the team It's been one of the most game-changing features we've released and we're so excited to share it with everyone.
