Data plays a pivotal role in advancing education, especially in technology-mediated learning environments. Our latest research paper presented at EDM2024 with Andres Felipe Zambrano Jacobo , Maciej Pankiewicz , Ryan Baker explored the use of GPT-4 for de-identifying student-generated data from discussion forums in 9 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Protecting student privacy while leveraging this valuable data is crucial for driving educational insights. Key findings: - High recall rate: (0.958)GPT-4 effectively identifies PII that needs redaction. - Enhanced quality: Our tool also catches instances that human redactors might miss. #AI #Education #Data #Privacy #Research #EDM2024 #MOOCs

I absolutely love this insight, Juan Pablo Zuluaga—especially as someone in the nonprofit sector! (The Franklin Food Bank / Hogares Bambi Bogotá) Beyond the compelling statistics and financial benefits, I’ve witnessed firsthand that our volunteers and donors walk away happier, more fulfilled, and deeply connected to the causes they support and that resonate with their values. It’s about the numbers, but it’s also about the "emotional bonus” they carry home, knowing they’ve made a real difference. There’s something truly powerful about aligning your values with action. Generosity doesn’t just uplift others; it enriches your own life in ways that go far beyond what you give. I’m honored to share this with my network! #ThePowerOfGiving #GenerosityIsSuccess #EmotionalWealth #NonprofitLeadership #MakeADifference #ValuesInAction #GiveAndGrow #BetterTogether #Nonprofit ______________________________________________________________ I came across a FASCINATING study in this book I’m reading… It says something we might already suspect: Generous people are much more successful. But what really struck me was this: Economist Arthur Brooks found that the impact generosity has on income is far greater than the impact income has on generosity. For every additional dollar someone earns, their donation increases by 14%. But for every dollar you give, your income rises by $3.75—a 375% increase! The author’s conclusion is powerful: Giving feels better, does more for you, and generates greater long-term returns than receiving ever could. As Tony Robbins wisely says, “The secret to living is giving.” It’s absolutely worth being generous!

#AI offers incredible opportunities to boost productivity, but it also poses risks if not handled responsibly. One major challenge is to prevent AI systems from reinforcing or worsening existing biases, particularly in areas like #HR, where #HumanRights and #fairness are at stake. The answer? A socio-technical approach that integrates #HumanCenteredAI principles with strong #DigitalLiteracy. By designing AI systems that respect human values and equipping teams to understand and critically evaluate these tools, we can minimize harms and build more inclusive workplaces. I recently shared my insights on this topic with ORH Observatorio de Recursos Humanos. Gracias Carlos, Usability testing sessions and continuous interactions with chefs are an essential part of the product development and refining process at Remi. Also remote testing sessions, like this one with Carlos, are important for us and help us understand how users interact with the system and understand their motivations and needs. These sessions are extremely valuable, especially because gastronomy and the practice of cooking in terms of a chef’s expertise is a highly underdeveloped field of scholarship with little to no attention within scientific studies. That is also why Abasse and I feel very privileged to be able to delve deeper into gastronomy research and problem-solving within the academic environment of DTU Skylab and Copenhagen Business School. Technology is about creating opportunities. At Remi, we aim to develop a technology that serves the purposes of chefs and restaurants.

"Just do it," they say. But uninformed decisions can be dangerous, especially for entrepreneurs. Uninformed decisions can kill ideas, passion, and capital. We don't need to be experts in everything or become pessimistic thinking we need to know it all to be successful. However, we do need to be aware of the areas where we're not experts and find alliances that help us. Finances are one of the most delicate aspects of a business, and one bad decision can lead to failure. I've been learning about credit, opportunities, capital, and more from a wonderful team at JPMorgan Chase & Co. They're sharing these resources again through Venprendedoras. If you're curious about these topics, this is a great opportunity for you. Financial education for free? Yes, please! Fully in Spanish/ Todo es en Español ⬇

Unlocking happiness as a leader! 🌟 Ever wondered about the secret to greater happiness? It's simpler than we often think. As the saying goes, "La clave para ser más feliz está en prestar más atención a lo que te hace feliz y menos a lo que no." Translated, it means "The key to being happier is to pay more attention to what makes you happy and less to what doesn’t." For leaders, this wisdom is golden. It’s about focusing on the positives—those aspects of our roles that energize and fulfill us—and minimizing the negatives. Whether it’s celebrating team successes, engaging in meaningful projects, or fostering a positive work culture, emphasizing what brings joy can profoundly impact our effectiveness and satisfaction. Leaders, how are you tuning into what truly makes you happy in your leadership journey? #Leadership #HappinessAtWork #PositiveLeadership #Management

GitHub Co-Pilot roasts itself. This is a great example of how so called state of the art GenerativeAI will result in massively suboptimal code. From this example it is clear that Co-Pilot was not even trained on the Sieve of Eratosthenes. Surprising, considering the Sieve's implementation is a ubiquitous pedagogical example of prime number searches, taught widely at the undergraduate level. It could at least set the upper limit of the loop as the square root of the test number. Should we accept this simply because it is adequately not wrong?
