THREE biggest takeaway from Oracle’s AI STRATEGY session today: 1. Almost all of database integrity, performance, mapping, and multi-formatting has moved from application domain to the database platform domain. Oracle platform checks all of these boxes. RETHINK ARCHITECTURE 2. Persistence layer will undergo a big change, with the rise of GenAI. I have been saying this for last 18 months. We can now store most of our data in venctor format — it’s like training a model as data happens (is created or altered). BTW I am talking real business data here, pertaining to systems of record as well. EMBRACE NEW TECHNOLOGY 3. It’s better to have one database platform which can take care of most, if not all, of your needs. Pay attention to price per performance, not only price or not only performance. RETHINK ROI/ RETHINK ECONOMICS OF OUR SYSTEMS. My departing remark, Oracle has all the chops, improving accessibility to their platform can push them into next level of developer appreciation/popularity/love. 😊 Larry is as impressive as ever with his deep technical chops.
