This is going to be huge! Data warehouse solutions like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery are all incredible tools when leveraged correctly, and truly have an immense capacity for unlocking cross-functional insights. However, a huge limitation is how accessible those are when GTM teams are in the thick of the day-to-day operations. Various Mar-Tech data stored in reports in separate tabs, failed attempts to bring in usage data to a CRM, you name it. There was always potential for highly customized tailored outbound messages, nurturing sequences, expansion aspirations due to data that could be utilized, but more often than not companies felt this disjointed cobbled together approach to not just find needed relevant data, but actually streamline the use of it to be very cumbersome. This new Zero Copy Partner Network is going to remove the need for reverse ETL and traditional data integrations into Salesforce so now all of a sudden, things just got a whole lot sexier for your Revenue Operations teams and the kinds of campaigns and strategies they can now pursue at scale!

Great post by Angela Strange While CRM may very well be the first area to be disrupted with transition to outcome vs seat based economics, this could expand over to all vertical SaaS. Imagine a next gen EHR trained on holistic health outperforming pill pushing doctors (pharma trained) on health outcomes. There we are, the deal seems to be off as apparently the two sides could not agree on terms - aka Salesforce apparently was not willing to put the amount of money on the table that Informatica owners asked for. (NB: the rumor mill says that Salesforce was willing to pay "mid 30 dollar per share" - today the shares are down to 31.50). I can also imagine that Salesforce investors were not too happy with this plan, as on the short term profitability (and dividends) likely would have suffered. I still think that this would have been an interesting acquisition for Salesforce as its current data management capabilities are lacking, data management becomes ever more important in an #AI age - and this is exactly what Informatica can offer, on top of adding to integration capabilities. All in all I think that this is a lost opportunity for Informatica. Let's look what'll happen next.
