Great news for operators! A more rational CBRS DPA activation methodology has been approved. This will ensure more uptime for broadband fixed wireless providers because channel grants will not be suspended as often. Though there are 15 possible CBRS channels losing one or more does not guarantee that an operator can easily get a replacement or a replacement channel adjacent to other channels. Adjacency is required by many smaller radio vendors to concatenate channels that enable effective broadband speeds and it helps even the efficiency of larger vendors. For those using GAA because they have no PALs or are supplementing their PAL bandwidth with GAA, losing channels forces more users on the remaining GAA channels and thus, interference. This act proves that spectrum sharing is viable and not detrimental to incumbents when deployed with reasonable controls.

Are you a small Internet Service Provider serving fewer than 100,000 connections? If so, the deadline to comply with the FCC’s broadband “Nutrition Label” disclosure rules is fast-approaching! #broadband #compliance #regulation #fcc #nutritionlabel #consumerprotection

A very functional document that I have used as the basis of a client's acceptance approach to WiFi solutions from vendors. It is important to remember that even expert hardware and software networked device manufacturers don't have it covered, and we used our approach to identify key design improvements that the hardware vendor then used in future designs, based off testing derived and enhanced from TR-398. Of course, having it and knowing how to use it is a key differentiator which we can supply in your product implementation Fairmile West Consulting

According to the Britannica Dictionary, recycling involves creating something new from items that have been used before. At Desert Wireless, our mission is to prioritize reusing and repurposing the electronic waste we collect rather than merely recycling it. By focusing on reuse and repurposing, we keep electronics out of landfills, protect the environment, and provide valuable goods at reasonable costs that might otherwise be inaccessible. The electronics we collect are distributed both within the US and internationally, helping to deliver essential goods and services to individuals and communities that might otherwise lack access. Before sending your items to traditional recycling programs, please consider our Reuse and Repurpose initiative. By choosing our program, you will make a positive impact on many lives while contributing to environmental protection. We place a value on each piece of electronics we process and pay for them; accordingly, we don’t purchase by the pound or accept items without value. #goodwill #salvationarmy #nonprofit #unitedway #stvincentdepaul #catholiccharities #habitatforhumanity #hospice #stjude #woundedwarriors #peta #humanesociety #communitycollege #university

As we went through the ACP providers we found that there are only 3 primary wireless carriers in America -- which we will highlight in the next article. -- but based on Rewheel research, America's prices are super retail because we do not have enough competition-- == If the largest cable companies are in bed with the largest wireless companies, who are owned by the largest wireline companies, have decided to let the cable companies control the wired services while the wireline-phone companies, then, who did not upgrade their networks to compete for wireline fast broadband-- diverted the wireline budgets to wireless. And if the wholesale prices are controlled by these 3 companies, and 2 of them control their own territories and they were able to create a second ‘hidden’ wireless network using the state utility’s right of way, construction budgets and even change laws... #digitaldivide #ACP #FCC #Regulatorycapture #broadband, #ISP #wireless

These pix of Cellcom billboards were taken in December in Wisconsin and were in new Wave7 Research postpaid report. WI regional carrier had top offer of "up to $850 on all phones" in Dec. Report also had UScellular billboard pic of "4 free phones & 4 lines" at $90/mo. In 2025, Wave7 will continue to cover the regional carriers. Radio was loud in Dec, with Verizon, T-Mobile, and Cricket among the top 5 in radio airings during 12/9-15, with roughly 40K airings each during that week. AT&T steady w/message of 20% savings on wireline or wireless when bundling the two. Mediacom TV ad touting wireless/wireless bundle at $49.99/mo for 1 year. https://lnkd.in/gxh6847p

Great article and great insights! Policymakers have a real conundrum on their hands: should they prioritize accelerating the already fast connections even further, or focus on narrowing the digital divide? Nevertheless, satellites have a role to play in either scenario! #satellites #satcom #broadband

Nextivity is back on the road and in Illinois. Chicago represented today. Lots of in-depth discussion around how to fix cellular coverage for customers. A very impressive group of partners and potential partners. Groups like this energize me. #cellular #5g #lte #cbrs #education #schools #sales #salesenablement #retail

While I agree with most of this article by CBRE, I believe it forget the benefits of an indoor small cell neutral host solution (connectivity as a service) like Proptivity! Way more 5G and 4G capacity if needed but still scalable from same cost levels as a traditional DAS, if very basic connectivity is target. #real5g #indoorcoverage #neutralhost #5g #4g #capacity

The FCC’s renewed focus on 5G funding for rural broadband is a significant development in the effort to bridge the digital divide. The recent article details how this reboot aims to enhance connectivity in underserved areas, bringing faster and more reliable internet access to rural communities. As we look to the future, it's clear that sustained investment in broadband infrastructure is crucial for fostering economic growth and ensuring equitable access to digital resources. This move by the FCC is a positive step toward addressing connectivity challenges and supporting rural development. https://lnkd.in/g78Vwf5e

Now here is an article that seems to those of us in the Broadband business to be intuitively obvious; Broadband competition has increased bandwidth and decreased prices. Duh!? Just like what happened to the voice and Long Distance market before it, increased competition has helped consumers get more and pay less. The down side of this model could be a reduction in the number of Broadband providers (ISPs) in the ten years or so. How many Long Distance providers prior to 2000 can you name that are still in business? National voice providers? ISPs should start looking at consolidation partners and services to provider over these "dumb" pipes now before Broadband becomes a commodity and it is too late. Because in a world where service is a commodity, scale matters! https://lnkd.in/gi-bQANi

I've spoken previously about how important the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program is - a once-in-a-generation $42 billion federal initiative to connect underserved areas across the United States – and that’s why I’m thrilled to see Indiana making significant strides in expanding broadband access across the state with the help of federal funding through BEAD. According to the latest from IndyStar, Indiana has secured substantial federal funds to boost state-wide broadband projects, marking a pivotal moment in their efforts to bridge the digital divide. At Calix, we are proud to play a crucial role in this transformation as we serve many customers in Indiana. We partner with Indiana’s local broadband service providers (BSPs) to enhance connectivity infrastructure, improve its high-speed Internet access, and provide overall innovative experiences to their subscribers. This not only improves access to essential services like healthcare, education, and business resources, but also fosters economic growth and innovation statewide. Read more about Indiana's broadband expansion efforts below. I’d love to hear how BSPs in other underserved states are utilizing the BEAD program in the comments section. #BroadbandExpansion #BEADProgram #Connectivity https://lnkd.in/eTv3m3hE

Thanks to Douglas Dawson for his review of a recent broadband survey. There were quite a few interesting details shared, but this one felt particularly relevant: "87% of respondents were in favor of revamping the Affordable Connectivity Plan that gave a $30 discount for low income households." #homeaccess #digitalequity #digitalinclusion #digitalopportunity https://lnkd.in/eXDAT8Rx
